MARYSVILLE, Wash. - A pregnant woman wearing a crop top says a North Sound restaurant denied her service -- because her baby bump was showing.
The server said the restaurant has a "no shoes, no shirt, no service" policy that’s linked with health code regulations and anyone wearing a crop top would have been asked to cover up. But the customer doesn’t buy it.
Charisha Gobin says she stopped by "Buzz Inn Steakhouse in Marysville with her family Sunday night, in a black crop top T-shirt and a long skirt.
“The waitress/bartender stopped us and said, 'I'm sorry, you can’t be here in that shirt.’ I said, ‘Are you being serious with me right now?’ And she said, ‘Yep, you can't be here,’” Gobin said.
Gobin is seven-and-a-half months pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl.
“Just because my belly was bigger and sticking out. But had it been anyone else, I don't think there would've been any problem whatsoever,” she said.
After the incident, she posted a photo of what she was wearing on Facebook, writing, "I was just denied service at the Buzz Inn on State Avenue in Marysville for my outfit. I'm violating the health code."
The server confirmed she told Gobin the crop top was a health code violation but didn’t explain why. Gobin says she didn't stick around to hear an explaination.
“I was livid. There was no way I was going to stay there,” she said.(snip)
The server says she would've asked anyone else in this same top to cover up.
Gobin says she's never heard of a crop top not counting as a shirt.
“I was wearing a shirt, it had sleeves. I didn't even have cleavage showing,” she said.
Gobin says she feels like she was body shamed.

The Buzz-Inn at Harvey Field in Snohomish is great; good food and nice staff, always crowded on a weekend.
Nobody wants to see that!
What is it with these women who think it is ok to expose their pregnant bellies ?
weirdo needs to keep her legs crossed more.
She's telling everyone in public that she is not normal.
I love to people watch. I don’t know if it’s still the same, but Logan Intern’l (Boston) has a spot where three concourses come together. I was always amazed at what I saw walking through the airport...everything from a bra-less woman in a Saran wrap top, to a guy in full Ph.D. cap and gown.
Could we bring back a sense of the sacred with a small s in this culture?
That baby and bump are not for public display. That baby and bumpp are both miracles to be appreciated in the sacred bond of matrimony. She is not married to the world.
What next? Public birthings?
In California they’d have carted her off to jail before she reached the front door.
The husband part, that is.
You’ll see everything in walmart. Men walking around in speedos, women in sleepwear, girls with their boobs falling out of their shirts when they lean over.
It’s just par for the course, I’m not sure i’ve ever seen a Walmart employee bat an eye at this stuff, although they do love to post stories about the quality of their clientelle.
At least she wasn’t wearing a furry costume. I saw a guy in a bunny outfit on one of my flights.
Why not just pull the Skirt up over her Belly?

For many years I had to travel a lot for the DoD, both CONUS and overseas and I always wore slacks, sport coat, and a tie.
I received many free First Class upgrades and I was always the first to get the upgrade so I think my attire was always appropriate.
Get over yourself, chica. Put on a normal shirt when you go to eat.
Are you kidding? That guy should be welcomed at ANY restaurant! He’d eat a lot of food!
