Another cop was placed on administrative leave with pay in the handcuffing of a Utah hospital nurse who refused to take blood from an unconscious patient.

They didn’t want to get shot. A lady got shot in Minneapolis for trying to get a cops attention
And the cops would have drawn and shot anyone who attempted to help.
That is what was in everyone’s mid there
The truck driver had serious burns. His blood would have shown narcotics because he would have been given pain killers in the ambulance, including possibly morphine. The cops were in CYA mode. Thank goodness there was video.
Some people think the cops wanted (hopefully) to find drugs or alcohol in the truck driver to take any potential liability about the real perp’s death away from the cops. Even with the arrest of the nurse the cops did not get the blood.
Possibly a line of reasoning on the thought process of the “LEO’s” involved. The victim is a CDL holder and D.O.T. regulations state that any time a C.D.L. holder is involved in an accident that results in a fatality, regardless of fault, they must submit to a drug test. My understanding of this situation, the laws regarding blood draws would take precedence.
If that is the case, and I think it might be, then the two cops and their superior officer need to be dragged into IA.
This isn’t the first time they have done this.
BS. The injured driver at the hospital would still have to consent and he was unable to do so.
Good, though I suspect that this is not going over well with the jackboot lickers.
She can sue the cops individually under federal civil rights statutes. However, qualified retirement plans are immune from bankruptcy, and if the cops upon being sued decide to file in bankruptcy court, then the nurse will get precious little from them.
Amen!
I hope. Also I hope the jury meets on Monday, Writes down a one, a coma and stays in session until 5 o’clock Friday writing zeroes and comas to the right of the initial coma.
I like the idea.
Have you ever heard the old saying, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”? I have a feeling this guy is about to learn this the hard way.
That’s why I stated that the legal obligation of the hospital would take precedence.
Thanks for clarifying. I thought that she could, but wasn’t sure.
.
Lots of cops are given a 10 minute course in phlebotomy.
Means absolutely nothing.
Not in the case of a patient in a burn unit who has already been administered a regimen of drugs to keep him alive.
On that we both agree.
Believe it or not that is what the Klan did except they would burn a cross in your front yard as a warning to shape up and take care of your family and be a responsible citizen.
Every time I see this I get more and more angry. What the hell does this abusive power tripping cop think he is doing? They need to forget the investigation, lock the creep up in a padded cell and throw away the key.
What on earth does he mean by doing this to a woman who surely looked to be reasonable and trying to reason with him. The cops that stood by just need to be whipped.
