VIDEO: Awan Asks Judge To Remove GPS, Citing Possible Emergency With Kids In Pakistan
A former House of Representatives IT aide was arraigned in federal court Friday on four felony fraud charges, appearing with three attorneys including Chris Gowen, a former close aide to Hillary and Bill Clinton.
Gowen asked that Imran Awan’s GPS monitoring bracelet be removed, citing that Imran might need to attend to an emergency with his children. In a press conference outside court, Gowen admitted that the children are in Pakistan and refused to explain the discrepancy.
“His ability to parent, which may well be single parenting, if there is an emergency…” Gowen said.
He also asked for other restrictions on his movement to be lifted, saying he has been driving for Uber, but the company had no record of any driver matching several variations of Imran’s name.
Prosecutor Michael Mirando opposed the motions, saying Imran is a severe flight risk. “From Day 1 there was a pattern of flight. It began September 2016… a pattern of transfers to Pakistan, hundreds of thoudands of dollars,” he said. The judge has not ruled on the motion.
Imran tried to board a flight to Pakistan in July, but the FBI arrested him at the airport. His wife, Hina Alvi, is already in Pakistan, having taken her kids out of school without notifying their Virginia school system and boarded a flight with household goods, and Mirando said authorities are sure she has no intention to return.

I know you follow this closely Liz, but I beg to differ. George was the one who did the basic fieldwork - knocking on the doors of the Awan houses. That’s what led him to Andre Taggart and the bag of blackberries and IT hardware. He fed this information to Luke who sat on it for months and George said today Luke didn’t even speak to him at the trial. That’s wrong.

These charges, while legit, are nothing but a smokescreen and a diversion from the 13 year espionage activities of an ISI Pakistani family of spies. It is the largest national security espionage case in American history by far.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz & Co. probably wouldn’t be too sad if Imran left the US, taking with him all that juicy gossip about the Dem’s corruption. But if he does escape to Pakistan, he’s gonna blackmail them for years.
OTOH, rotting in a jail cell for months before trial without bail & possibly years afterwards tends to loosen the tongue. That is likely why he is not in jail, now, & why the “judge” will remove the monitor so he can skip bail. Blackmail is always preferable to criminal exposure.
As is the norm now, our judiciary, legislative, & law enforcement are corrupt from top to bottom.
