Does this mean in Florida towns cannot take down monuments, or tombs down, remove, or destroy?http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&URL=0800-0899/0872/Sections/0872.02.html
Any and all laws that hurt the tender little snowflakes feelings are now to be ignored.
seems so. A nearly 140 year old monument now scares, and offends them. give me a break.
“But a local minister is claiming that hes intimidated by it “
Perhaps this “minister” needs to learn the true meaning of the word “intimidation”.
Just a thought.

Because the Title of that section is laws concerning “ dead bodies and graves” statues alone not included..
Atifa o.k. under that statute unless they go after GrantS Tomb.
But there must be other statutes under which they can and should be prosecuted, such and defacing destroying public or private property.
Time for Justice to get off rear end and this will stop.
He is not even local either. He lives in another county, but has a church in the town.
“but has a church in the town.”
For now, anyway. Maybe you could do something to change that.
Just a thought.

Looking into that and him pushing politics in his church too.
Looks like they are talking about burial monuments. I don’t think they are talking about statues if that’s what you’re suggesting.
The USMA West Point should be deemed a safe place because there aren’t any statues to any CSA officers (or enlisted) erected on the grounds. Maybe some info inside the museum but the CSA officers became persona non grata when they put on the Gray and took up the sword against the Union.
Generally, statute titles are not part of the law, but do illustrate legislative intent.
This is Florida law, to the Grants in NYC are not protected.
But you are totally right. Vandalism, theft, etc, apply but those generally are not felonies.
Remember, the law is not always right.... but it is the law... and that made me a great living for many years..... :)
