Yup. The burners are out of town but they'll be back starting next weekend. For an event that celebrates burning "THE MAN" and eschewing capitalism be tryng to be "cashless" at the event. nobody finds it odd that silly cone valley execs appear, fly in, have million dollar travel busses etc. Not only that, someone was trying to sell 3 passes and 3 parking permits the other day for face value of $4,500. And we wonder why there are some many burners with signs after the event looking for money or rides to get back to where the came from. Burn baby burn. I suppose we'll see a report on "celebrity" sightings later in the week. Groovy man........

Burning Man sounds like fun.
Always wished I had gone when I was younger.
I hope they all have a good time.

I used to go every year to meet with folks in tech and engineering. We would have talks, workshops and demos. Lots of blasts, lasers, music and vehicles intertwined with the most adventurous people on Earth.
Burning Man is about trying new things with as few nanny state rules
and lawyers as possible. While fully respecting your neighbors. It was once an atmosphere of so much respect that I didn’t see a single scrap of trash or verbal altercation. I walked barefoot the entire time.
Yes, the EDM/Raver crowd has recently taken over and polluted the place. With trash and commercial camps. Us old timers keep in touch and will be back as soon as it’s not “cool” anymore

Meanwhile, there’s Houston...which could use a few volunteers to help out.
Not that these aging hippies with delusions of superiority would be much help anyway.
