Inclusive? I am not Catholic, but I feel sorry for the traditionaalists, and what they are having to put up with. A Christian school taking down a statue of Jesus seems beyond reason

I’m sure traditional Catholics wrote off that school as a fraud years ago.

yes, this is stunning. A Catholic school removing religious symbols, to be “inclusive”??

Heck, religions have their rituals and symbols and theologies.

The people running this place are out of their minds in some ways. Apologies if this offends anyone. But someone running a Catholic institution, and has the attitude that they need to minimize or exclude symbols of their religion,to prove to the outside world that they are tolerant or inclusive or liberal, is not thinking straight.

Some would claim this is a move to stop “idolatry” but it really nothing of the kind. There have been icons of Christ and other religious figures in various Christian churches for centuries, and only rarely does someone come up with shouts about graven images. The statue is only a source of inspiration to the faithful, and not the deity or the saint itself.

This institution may be preparing to embrace and accept Islam, and they do not want any “offending” reminders of the very real differences between what was once Christianity and the “new look” of what Islam wants the world who are non-Muslim to see, changing their brand, so to speak.
