Joey Bada$$, a hip-hop artist who has earned praise from Malia Obama, asked his Twitter followers if he was "crazy" for staring at the solar eclipse without protective glasses - then canceled his upcoming performances.
"Am I crazy for watching the eclipse today w no glasses?" the rapper tweeted. "I've sungazed before and afterwards saw colors for a whole day. I didn't die tho."

Yes, but the point was that they were very likely sending a "signal" by wearing the red and black garb at such at pivotal moment in time as that: The night "they" (communists) took over the reigns of the country. Thus, Michelle's communist/Black Panther fist salute.
"Barack Obama told supporters that
'change has come to America' as he
claimed victory in a historic presidential election."

I did not poke fun at the guy.
Not at all.
I had never made that connection. But then, I never knew what the anarchist/communist flag looked like and was only vaguely aware of the meaning of the clenched fist.
I am quite aware of the power of symbolism, though, and saw Obama display his affinity for the violent totalitarian left in other ways. For instance, he would pose with his head tilted back in order to obviously look down on people, and some of his campaign posters were very reminiscent of Soviet posters. Hillary also engaged in the symbolism, the most obvious of which was her propensity to wear ugly dictator jackets, much like Mao or Stalin. And I am sure that digging into her campaign materials would reveal much more totalitarian symbolism.
Joey Bada$$ should consider changing his name to Joey Dumba$$.
Darwin award.
He’s a rapper. This is fully expected.
You won't die, Joey, you'll just go blind.

When your claims to fame are a drunken college girl giving you praise and that you stare at the sun without glasses, you aren’t all that.
They could tour together on the Blind Leading the Blind Extravaganza.
I watched it through my eclipse glasses but not for a sustained time. I put the glasses on, took a glimpse, looked away, and took them off. I didn’t see the point in staring at it the whole time. It took about 3 hours for it to move across the sun. I think I took a quick look about five times total. The exciting part for me was watching it get darker for about 20 minutes, go totally dark, and start getting light. It confused the heck out of the night bugs like jar flies. :-)
Why would he need to read?
Its sad that the sun is so racist against black people.
From your vantage point in Tenn where it was a total or near total covering, did you see any stars at the moment of totality? Is the nighttime sky typically very dark where you are?
I’m in New York City where we had an 75% coverage. I could barely detect it being darker, even at the time of the 75% peak. Then again, we had a few clouds rolling by at the time. And with the occasional cloud pass we were actually able to see the eclipse without the glasses!, through the clouds. An amazing sight. However, even then I didn’t stare at it for too long.
Dont take life too seriously. No one will get out of it alive.
Willfully ignorant imbeciles like this need laughed at all the way to the cemetery.
No surprise......we were told the eclipse was racist
Drove up into Nebraska and caught it! The last 10-15% approaching totality was very impressive. Anything short of that is really a tease!
It gets dark fast the last 10% and temps dropped at least 15 degrees. Close to 15000 people in the immediate viewing area and IT GETS SUPER QUIET and dead still! The bright stars becoming visible, the darkness of the moons shadow covering the intense sun lets the suns corona be seen. It was not pitch black but dark, and you could see the perimeter of the moons shadow moving across the clouds and the horizon was lit up brightly but it was dark straight up!. It was 75% overcast that was split open right where the sun was. Without the clouds its difficult to make out the movement of the moons shadow across the ground easily.
Whoever planned this event knew exactly what he was doing!
gimmee a beat....
you dummass rapper, what the hell...
you too stupid fo me to tell.
looking at the sun, you dumb as sheet.
you be the next stevie wonder rappin da beat.
word.
Through the right type of telescope and filter you would even be able to see the Sun's magnetic field lines as rays projecting outward from the disk.
