President Donald Trump took in the solar eclipse from the Truman Balcony of the White House on Monday, even briefly glancing at the sun directly despite a shouted warning from an aide.

Sporting eclipse glasses — for only part of the viewing — and standing alongside Melania Trump and their son, Barron, Trump viewed what was a partial eclipse in Washington, DC. It began at 1:17 p.m. ET, peaked at 2:42 p.m., and was set to end at 4:01 p.m., The Washington Post reported. The moon covered 81% of the sun at the eclipse's peak in Washington.

It’s “moot.” Moot point. “Mute” is what you do to your TV when Anderson Cooper comes on (or any other of those commie pinkos).

I remember the eclipse in ‘79 and there was nowhere near the hype, hoop-la and mass ‘amazement’ associated with that celestial event compared to today’s. Back then, people found it to be interesting but nothing to get so emotional about.

So what? I watched the eclipse without special glasses for a lot longer than that. Of course, due to the fact that we have about 95% cloud cover at the time, my “viewing” was done on nasa.gov.

It’s questionable which would have made them happier. President Trump’s blindness resulting from the act or the possibility that, like Icarus, he few too close and came tumbling down to earth. Just something to ponder in the months to come.

Glancing briefly at an eclipse will not cause blindness any than glancing at the Sun at any other time will cause blindness.

That was sort of my first thought. Trump stares at the sun and the sun covers it face.

Funny CBS is commenting on this. I was watching their coverage from Illinois and their news commentators were constantly removing their “eclipse” glasses while looking up at the sun.

"Glancing briefly at an eclipse will not cause blindness any than glancing at the Sun at any other time will cause blindness."

God how I hate the media.

Before I put my special glasses on I briefly glanced at the sun.

So what?

Trump is 70 years old. I'm certain he isn't stupid enough to STARE at the sun.

Not that it is really possible anyway.

It is painful to actually keep your gaze on it.

Oh indeed, I believe I’ve spent to much time debating liberals. I always shoe-in something like that with a slight of hand. Then I sit back with baited breath waiting for the deep-seeded grammer police inside of them to go wilde.

By in large, you are absolutely right about Anderson Cooper et al. We just have to make due with annoying them with little things sometimes. Cause lets face it, debating them is one in the same; it goes nowhere because they are like jello on a wall.

I’ll certainly have to ensure my skills are honed in hear, as I would prefer to give all freepers piece of mind. I would hate to give the impression that I could care less. Its just my way of extracting revenge on liberals.

Whew, think I need some expresso while I make this 360 change in my life.
