President Donald Trump took in the solar eclipse from the Truman Balcony of the White House on Monday, even briefly glancing at the sun directly despite a shouted warning from an aide.
Sporting eclipse glasses — for only part of the viewing — and standing alongside Melania Trump and their son, Barron, Trump viewed what was a partial eclipse in Washington, DC. It began at 1:17 p.m. ET, peaked at 2:42 p.m., and was set to end at 4:01 p.m., The Washington Post reported. The moon covered 81% of the sun at the eclipse's peak in Washington.

I looked up at the sun today too the same way I always do to check out the weather.
Looking at the sun and staring into it may be 2 different things, but hey its the MSM pushing another narrative.

I’m a Yankee but if I had the money, I would buy parcels of land in every Southern state and build statues honoring Confederate officers and enlisted men on each and every parcel, and then deed the land to the Daughters of the Confederacy or similar groups.

Indeed it's fake news (not unlike the serial faux refused handshake hysterics)...he's obviously purposely feinting looking/haming looking at the sun at the about the 2:00 mark in the linked video. Allan Smith/the author needs a humor translator or needs to stop lying.

Actually a quick GLANCE is harmless. Even yet, it’s still so bright that it would not be possible to make out the portion of it blocked by the moon.
This is a solar-cooked nothing burger.
