There’s no “what if”. Local people had a legitimate grievance when their political masters chose to tear down their heritage. The agitators targeted this event and I have no doubt that Soros funded goons contacted the Nazi’s and encouraged them to show up. Trump has struck the proper balance: condemn the views of the Nazis and white supremacists, condemn the violent leftists, and acknowledge that there were decent people on both sides who just wanted to exercise their right to free speech on this controversial issue. The left wanted a confrontation that they could hang around Trump’s neck, but he has been absolutely correct in his statements.

Also, why is there no video of the car other than it backing up? There are traffic cameras everywhere and there were thousands of cell phones rcording the event. Why is there no actual video of the takedown?

Yes, Antifa showed up planning to commit violence. You don’t have a whole group with weapons and face-concealing masks without advanced planning.
They were certainly trying to film it via drones and cell phone cameras, as much for any legal protection they hoped to get as kudos from allies for “look, we bashed fascists! Cheer for us or donate to us!”
Police / government officials were complicit, though I don’t think actively conspiring. We know that because police stood down, proven by the ACLU, as nazis left the event and could only pass through the violent liberal mob, guaranteeing violence.
I think they were hoping that by setting up the certainty of violence they could use public safety as an excuse to prohibit free speech of nazis and anyone they called nazis. Note that liberals call ALL conservatives nazis, so saying you want nazis banned means liberals in power ban the Tea Party and Republican events.
The police standing down and enabling violence is a dangerous pattern. The police in San Jose let liberal bullies pelt people with eggs, stones and rip their clothes off. Police in Berkley let liberal mobs assault people merely being in line to hear Milo. There are college events where university police were paid to provide security and didn’t, both with Milo and Ben Shapiro that I know of.
Liberal officials are actively enabling liberal violence while refusing to protect conservatives from the mob violence. They ARE the fascists.
