For the last few days, I've noticed Matt Drudge's Drudge Report website has stopped printing photos in full color, opting instead for a cool, steely grey tone. Tonight he uses a sepia or reddish brown tone in one photo. The photos have a classic look, as if one took an image from a famous or infamous moment, and created a Lithograph from it. A tedious messy medium, those lithographs.
The old Wall Street Journal used a Hedcut printing method for their half column illustrations. Hedcuts use the stipple method of many small dots and the crosshatching method to produce a look that resembles woodcuts from old style newspapers, or engravings on certificates and currency. The style was created by a Kevin Sprouls in 1979. I haven't purchased a Wall St. Journal in years, so I don't know if they still use this style or not.
My question is, how long do you think it will be before Matt begins printing in full color again? For most people, this question brings up the image of that fellow on the cartoon Family Guy, with him saying "Who The Hell Cares?", but for those of us who may have worked in printing, commercial art, or graphic arts at one time, or took courses on such topics, it may cross the mind. I, for one don't expect this to last any longer than the next top tier Celebrity death, or outbreak of an actual hot war with Kim Jong Un.
The RGB pixels are on strike.
Kind of a cool explanation. Why not be “Citizen Kane” for awhile?
We have clearly entered a historic era. Its feeling like The Roaring 20s this autumn with tech valuations at such hysterical heights. The socials, like Instagram Live, are alive with the spirit of Warhol. The sound of the atom splitting is looming over Korea. Whats old is new. So, black and white and read all over!
Maybe I'm just pissed at him for not posting any articles of real significance, but this seems like the type of response a pretentious gay man would make.
He’s been acting like the Trump Presidency is doomed the past couple of weeks.
Never count out a honey badger. They are mortal... but just barely. Progressivism is group think. They are the hyena that has the honey badger by the scruff of the neck. What they don’t realize is the honey badger can move within it’s own skin and they are about to get mauled.
Look it up. True fact about honey badgers and why lions walk the other way when they see one.
Drudge is part of the resistance.... quit following this asshat.
>Hes been acting like the Trump Presidency is doomed the past couple of weeks.
He’s watching the same slow motion coup we’re watching and he’s better connected than we are.
There’s something more to it. Drudge has friends and connections with leftists, who flatter him as a flamboyant, unique, artistic “wounded bird” (language actually used in a leftist article on Drudge, talking about this unorthodox gay man who happens to be right leaning).
Drudge is also simultaneously a recluse and has a tendency on excommunicating friends of his for slight affronts. Lately Drudge (or so I’ve heard) has excommunicated anything coming out of Breitbart.
All of this suggests that Drudge is a narcissistic gay man who is emotionally unstable. These crap about 1920s boom and bust, Andy Warhol, etc., I think is just a manifistation of his delusions to being an artistic fellow with grand insights.
If it was just Drudge seeing the “coup in slow motion,” he wouldn’t be conscientiously ignoring positive news that even Trump mentions on his twitter feed.
I think Drudge has decided to shun Trump and helping Trump in any way.
And holy crap that last post of mine came out like I was babbling, but you can see what I mean.
Your very last sentence seems to contradict itself.
“I think Drudge has decided to shun Trump and is helping Trump in any way.”
Ahh, yes. The famous duet of Macca and Jacko singing about Dogs and Cats playing together!
As Michael said on their other duet ‘The Girl is Mine’,
“I’m a lover, not a fighter!”. As if there were ever any doubt. Eddie Murphy was hilarious imitating Jackson’s falsetto back then.
All excellent points.
Then why is he reporting negative stories about the Administration?
Yes, I just meant “has decided to shun Trump,” but tried adding an unnecessary “and has decided NOT to help Trump in any way,” but mangled it.
He has gone retro....black and white and read all over
Until he decides otherwise
No he hasnt
