HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) A convicted felon who turned his life around, won acclaim as a published poet and graduated from Yale Law School is being forced to prove that he has the moral character and fitness to practice law in Connecticut.

He passed the Bar.
So didn’t Bruce Cutler who defended John Gotti (except maybe for the jail time). Moral fiber and ethics matter in the legal realm.
He certainly has moral character at least equal to that Connecticut’s senior senator, one Mr. Blumenthal - another Yalie!
The fact that he pursued a law degree is a strike against him IMHO.
When did CT start considering “moral character” as a prerequisite for lawyers?
They don’t do so for any of their elected officials in the US Congress or within the State.
