Good movie. I recently rewatched High Noon.
I haven’t yet. It is on my mental list of “series films” which I want to see. I have done all of Charlie Chan, Mr. Moto, the Crime Doctor and some of Bulldog Drummond and the Falcon. Many of those are worthy of repeat viewing (Warner Oland and Peter Lorre were great in their roles).
It ain’t grand literature, but add a glass of wine and maybe a snack and it is a slice of paradise!
Nice list. The Thin man is suave and witty. Great team of Myrna Loy and William Powell
happy viewing
Taking hits because they are not making hits.
Staying home playing ping pong is more entertaining.
Yeah, but they'll still need somebody to read the script, right?
Not for long. Here's a link to a short video demonstrating Adobe's project VoCo. It is computerized voice editing - adding and changing what was actually said, by simply typing a change. Imagine having brand new films with the actor voices being long deceased actors.
No more locations. No more tantrums. No more retakes. No more ridiculous demands.
Hollywood actors are going to have to take a pay haircut.
Me too and reading seems to diminish the magic but for now my hearing is still OK for me. It might be an expensive option but you could try an AV-receiver that can boost the vocal ranges. I have a Yamaha RX-V365 and a mish-mash of thrift store speakers. Some modes seem to boost the dialog better than others.
Never thought to do it, but mine might even do that...thank you for the suggestion...
Make something I want to watch, and maybe I’ll go see a movie. But it’s going to have to be something I really really want to see given ticket and concession prices. Actually, I don’t remember the last movie I went to see... been months....
Looked fairly real to me.
I stopped going when i learned just how much the Chinese own Hollywood. Did not go to a single movie this year, and even some Blu-ray movies I won’t buy because of the reviews, will wait until is on Direct Tv.
America has changed with tribalism. Public gathering places beyond booze places and restruants are no longer socially comfortable. Last movie I went to, the lady next to me talked loudly throughout the movie. It’s not worth the stress.
We’ve got a drive in about 30 minutes from us. We go several times a summer. It was built about fifteen years ago and is packed on the weekends. First run double feature with one G/PG-13 plus one PG 13/R afterwards. Family atmosphere, $5 a person to get in, a reasonably priced concession (convenience store offerings and prices), and never any trouble. Of course, it is on the edge of a small city in the middle of farm country, but it is good!
You must have theaters that show the independent, foreign, and art films.
There are at least 5 in my area, and probably more.
I have seen fantastic movies there-—rarely go to the multiplex theaters.

CANDICE Who are you to judge my womanly soul? The Goddess flames that burn in my memory aren't dark. Dare you call them dark! Here lies the Goddess truth of my body.
CANDICE The Goddess that cries, "Freedom!" Here is the Goddess truth of my womanly being You are my blossom, my flame. When we make love, it's like the sun is right outside the door.
HER BLOSSOM Then make love to me, right now.
The answer is “yes” on Raisinets...at least a my local theater. But my closest local theater has gone “assigned seating” w/recliner chairs...have to go waaay early to pick a decent seat or pay a surcharge and order online. Boo!

Why on earth do you even by food at a movie?
It’s about two hours long-——what a waste of money.

Family members have 65 inch TV with surround sound...Have family night, everyone pays a couple of bucks for two movies, few more bucks for pizza and soda and a cheap fun night
