... The Dark Tower is taking a serious drubbing, and many diehard King fans are similarly displeased with how the movie turned out. But lets be honest, this isnt exactly the first film adaptation of a Stephen King book to lay an egg. Children of the Corn, anyone? Maximum Overdrive? The Lawnmower Man?
Fortunately, Kings cinematic oeuvre is chockablock with movies that are actually good. If you were let down by The Dark Tower or you plan to give it a miss entirely here are seven great Stephen King movies that you can stream or digitally rent from the comfort of your own haunted house...

I read the Dark Tower series and when I got to the end of the last book I wanted to punch Stephen King in the face!

Dolores Claiborne was very good as well.
Secret Window (with Johnny Depp) was poor. I never thought that the John Turturro character was anyone other than who he turned out to be. Not suspenseful at all.

How good could it be?
You can’t compress four or five 800 page books into a couple of hours.
Seeing the trailer with Roland as a black dude.. I thought “why not?” He’s sufficiently bad-ass.
But all the nuances and odd connections and discovery stuff can’t really get done in a movie.
Probably better done as a series, like “The Stand”.
Nobody asked me.

I have no plans to see itm but I doubt it can be as awful as “Kujo.”

Sounds like it crapped out at the end which usually happens when I read his books. A lot of his books are like that. He starts off with a great idea then as the book goes on you can see he loses interest in writing it and then he puts this lame ending just to get it out of his face.

There’s a queue for that. I’ve never felt so ripped off reading a book.

The book was soooooo much better than the movie.
I really liked Stephen Kings early stuff. I stopped reading him when he got so commercial and started kicking stuff out left and right. My fav was probably The Stand.

This one wasn’t like that...the build up to the end was very good...it was really a page turner. Until the last paragraph.
