“Clarence Clemmons might have been the only one in that band with any talent.”

Definitely!

I've never loved nor loathed the Eagles. I think they wrote catchy tunes. What turned me against them was a documentary where Henley and Frey both seemed to treat the "lesser" members of the band poorly. Indeed, they told the other guys through their attorney that Henley and Frey would take a disproportionate share of tour revenue. Don Felder said "no" and he was out of the band.

I ALWAYS loved Joe Walsh (pictured here with Keith Moon).

All that emotion aside, facts are facts and you can't deny this, from the RIAA's Gold and Platinum database:

Band The Beatles Garth Brooks Elvis Presley Led Zeppelin Eagles Billy Joel Michael Jackson Elton John Pink Floyd AC/DC
Certified Units (in millions) 178 148 136 111.5 101 82.5 81 77 75 72

Love 'em or hate 'em, you must respect that the Eagles are the fifth best selling artist of all time.

The only band I hate more than The Eagles is Fleetwood Mac.

Loved Clarence Clemons. Not a Springsteen fan but would listen to certain songs just to hear Clarence plat.

“Don Henley’s gonna tell me how to vote. I don’t ____ing think so, okay? I got two words for Don Henley—Joe ___ing Walsh—okay? Thanks for calling, Don. How long’s your pony tail now, okay?”

A hotel room's worst nightmare. Although, Joe cleaned up his act years ago.

I could listen to Joe Walsh all day and all day AND all night on Sundays. I also love Steve Miller from that era.

I cannot STAND, ‘America.’

And I can probably live the rest of my life without hearing, ‘Hotel California’ ever again.

EVER. AGAIN.

Not ALL their politics. Henley’s “Dirty Laundry” is probably the best musical slam ever against the mainstream media, and “Get Over It” one of the best anti-snowflake anthems going.

But then there was "The End of the Innocence" (yes, I know Bruce Hornsby wrote it)

Well, you know what they say, you can stab it with your steely knife, but you just can't kill the beast.

Oh yeah, most of their political stuff leans wayyyyy far left. But the two examples I cited any FReeper can get behind.

Springsteen sings like he’s trying to pass a bowling ball.

You know why they put in the word "Steely" there?

Oh, come on! Jefferson Starship was MUCH worse once they were just, ‘Starship’ with Mickey whats-his-name. And Grace Slick’s caterwalling can peal paint! Hate them. Everyone will understand that.

And if you so much as DARE touch my beloved Van Halen I will have no choice but to ‘un-FR-iend’ you! ;)

Fleetwood Mac clocks in with 49.5 million units sold, ranking as the 23rd best-selling artist of all time in a tie with Neil Diamond, right below Celine Dion and right above Shania Twain.

I hear you. I'd rather listen to the Eagles than Fleetwood Mac though I do love "Oh Well" and that one of Judas Priest's most famous songs was written by Fleetwood Mac (Green Manilishi). But ya gotta respect the numbers they put on the board.

While we are talking about bands we hate. May I offer up “Styx”.

Dennis DeYoung is the most faggy singer I’ve ever heard.

Their songs sound like a whining drone to me. But this is still a good story about his son.
