Yesterday I saw that Cheryl Ladd (of Charlies Angels fame) had turned 66 earlier this month. Sixty-six! SIXTY-SIX! That was surprising enough as Im getting old material, but then I discovered her daughter is about 42. That means her daughter is about 15 older than when her mother first appeared on Charlies Angels.

I ‘like’ to point out that when I went in Navy in 1956 it was 40 years after WWI..naturally we ‘all’ figured the WWII vets were ‘old’ so the WWI must have been ‘ancient’ and on the brink of extinction.
That said, it has been OVER 60 years since I went in.
Hmmmm.
I don’t feel ‘old’ till I think of that...<:
What a great film. Thanks for reminding me.
I fell in love with Jeanne watching Jules et Jim.
I actually know a lady in her mid-60’s with a really impressive figure. Obviously being a gentleman would never ask her if she had work done. But if I were about 15 yrs. older I think I’d find her REEEEAL interesting.
A lot of my showbiz friends are kicking the bucket - Dennis Farina, Patty Duke... scary.
Of course she took over from Farrah Fawcett on Charlie’s Angels.
One of the frustrations the producers had with Fawcett is that she refused to wear a bikini on the show (despite the fact she started doing nude stuff years later). So when Ladd took over they apparently never got off her back about “put on a bikini.....we want you in a bikini....”
Her response to that was to show up on-set in a series of teenier and teenier bikinis, until the producers realized that Network Standards and Practices would never go for this and they had to yell “Stop, already!”
A very creative approach to the problem, I must say.
We spent one year working in computers for NCR in LA in 1969/70 and went to one Hollywood opening, Jean Renoir’s “The Little Theatre of Jean Renoir.” Totally strange French opera with one of the four segments about a woman in love with her electric floor polisher. But Jeanne Moreau sang between two of the parts and then, to our shock, she and Jean Renoir got up on stage from the audience and gave short speeches. She was always beautiful.
Maybe your making a mistake in thinking you should be 15 years older to be interested! ;)
She wore a bikini that blended in with her skin color so she looked naked. She said she did this deliberately to get the notice of those standards guys. I also remember her wearing a small white bikini and a small red bikini. I liked it...... but she did not not want to wear one in every show.
The ratings would have been higher if she did : )
Saw that too. You might like DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID, a Bunuel film. She was good in it.
RIP.
She was already a mom when the show started.
Yes, I know. That wasn’t the point.
No, I know what you were saying.
