Oh congratulations! I was gob-smacked when our granddaughter was born. They’re in NJ, we are in So Cal. I said, “Honey, this baby is late. We should just cancel our flight and go in a month, after the dust has settled.” Son calls, ‘Her water just broke!” I could have WALKED across the country for that baby. We got to see her, just a few hours old.
All 4 of us grandparents + the parents just passed her from one to the next, arms to arms - time stood still. What a blessed time.

Our first Grandchild was who made me get very serious about political activism. I selfishly said to myself, “Well the kids are out of the house who cares what happens now”. Then came my first Granddaughter.... Wait... I’m not done yet... what about the world she will grow up into? I will now do everything I can to try and make it better.
The way you felt is how it feels with every Grandchild that comes after! It always feels like the first!

I’m enjoying My 1st Grandson from the beginning of His life, He’s going on 4 months and is AWESOME, sweet, happy, smart, beautiful, a hand full AND with the Blue Eyes He’s got, A LADIES MAN!!!
He flashes those eyes with the slight look away and just a little tilt of His head- I won’t need to show Him how to pick up the Women!!!
Wow, 11! My wife and I just welcomed our second and were feeling pretty smug. Now I feel like an amateur!

Congrats. We just welcomed our first great-grand-nephew last Monday.
Years ago an elderly lady on TV looked straight into the camera and said (to the viewers) “If I’d known how much fun Grandchildren were, I would have had them FIRST!”
Didn’t fully understand until my first Grandchild arrived!

i make do with my daughters niece thru marriage.
They are amazing!
In that case we would loan you a couple to enjoy! But if you have a Daughter, then you know I’m talking about with 13yr old girls. We raised three. :)
