Hints for the day: McConnell, Ryan & Preibus must go...right now. Let the Democrats stand 100% alone...and let Obamacare do its thing, self -destruct. Obamacare will implode and the Demoicrat Party will kill itself off. If McConnell & Ryan play footsies with the Democrats, I can assure you, the Democrats will get everything they want, heading to a "single payer" government run healthcare system & full blown socialism.
As for traitors, McCain, Murkowsky & Collins......pay them no mind whatsoever.....their political careers are finished and, they will flame out on their own with no help needed from us.
We, the people must continue to support POTUS, DJT, 100% & zero all of our efforts, money and attention on defeating every single Democrat and RINO that we can in the upcoming 2018 Mid-Term elections. Actually, the insane idiot traitor McCain may have done us all a great favor last night.
Has been tried and retried best move is to back President Trump and call the repubs and pray they listen. There is no chance for third party, at this time but I too would love a fire breather o catch on and denounce both parties. Maybe Trump will ... Right now it is wait and see time imho
Thank you for this thread ....
Well now, that total jackass Shumer heaping praise on the three vote swingers, does send me a pretty clear message.
“we long to work with our friends on the other side of the aisle”. Absolute BEE ESS.
I disagree.
It’s already been played on the FAkeNews that this is a Rep admin, and it’s a Rep problem. And they are right because that is what the midterm talking points will be, as well as the talking point that the Dems were ‘forced to rescue’ the incompetent Reps, and that’s what people are going to believe.
The taxpayers are pretty angry at the senate this morning. Seven years of lying to fundraise, and this morning, crow and snickers at the office cooler. Rand Paul learned his platform failed; Cruz learned his platform failed. Graham learned his platform failed. And McCain threw a temper tantrum with his thumb. They were all wrong and so convinced they were right in their arrogant rejection of the House bill. They could do better, they each had the winning ticket they told us, yet they couldn’t even get it together to pass a bread without butter bill. They let us down.
So....how do we send the House bill to the Whitehut?
Sir....I could not agree with you more. Actually, for our once great country to reach its full magnificent, positive, free, destiny, both the Democrat & Republican Establishment political parties must just about be totally politically destroyed.
I do have faith in our POTUS, Donald J. Trump. He gave them an honest chance and shot to both major political parties, but, both failed miserably, only concerned about their egos, greed, power, total control of our people. They could care less about the people and the nation!!!
Time for Trump to clean house across the board. DJT....get rid of them deadbeats. You can start with McConnnell, Ryan and Preibus...like today. Actually, DJT...there are tons of deadbeats to toss into the sewer/cesspool, where they rightfully belong. I could go on naming the all day long.
I have an idea, perhaps the mandate penalty should not apply if:
a. there are not at least two companies offering silver plan coverage in your area with an annual deductible of under $2,000/year for a person of any age, or
b. any company who covered (directly or indirectly) at least five percent of the exchange customers for January of the prior calendar year, does not offer silver plan coverage in your area with an annual deductible of under $2,500/year for a person of any age, or
c. there is not at least two companies offering bronze plan coverage in your area with an annual deductible of under $3,000/year for a person of any age, or
d. any company who covered (directly or indirectly) at least five percent of the exchange customers for January of the prior calendar year, does not offer a bronze plan coverage in your area with an annual deductible of under $3,500/year for a person of any age
That would give both insurers and care providers an incentive to offer lower deductible policies.
It would be something both Democratic and Republican members of Congress could support.
McCain, Collins and Murkowski almost certainly wouldn’t want to vote no on it.
If we are going to have to put up with the unconstitutional mandate for another year, the insurance companies and providers must start buckling their belts a bit tighter.
Too many Republicans think the PPACA will “crash and burn”, but actually only the coverage quality would continue to deteriorate below the existing appalling levels.
The sad fact is that millions of people will only find out how bad PPACA coverage is after trying to use it.
My Democratic neighbor thinks the PPACA is wonderful, but as the wife of a retired military officer, she has “the best coverage there is” [i.e. not PPACA coverage].
We had an another argument over the PPACA again, but after McCain’s vote, she gleefully said goodbye, went inside and shut her door.
Wouldn’t plan premiums continue to increase and wouldn’t the insurance companies also demand greater subsidies??
“oppose the business mandate”
A lot of least retailers are going to fold or radically contract unless the business mandate is repealed.
Sears is closing its store locally.
People also think Penney’s will go out to.
Macy’s closed up their local store when they opened a new store in the area’s largest mall, near the large new affluent community.
Store closings will be concentrated in lower-income areas, making it much harder for low-income folks to get retail jobs. Millions of people have disabilities that limit them to retail employment.
“Wouldnt plan premiums continue to increase and wouldnt the insurance companies also demand greater subsidies??”
You are correct on both.
But silver plan-based subsidies would keep pace, keeping silver plan coverage tolerable to those that have been able to tolerate its shortcomings.
No matter what, the PPACA is simply going to get more expensive for everyone simply because it lacks cost-control plan features.
Government NEVER gives up power without force.
Brilliant. I sincerely hope Team Trump runs across your post, and gets it onto the President's desk. It's obviously the way forward.
In fact, don't wait. Send it to them. I'm dead serious.
I trust the marketplace. The marketplace always works when utilized.
It was designed to implode. Obama won’t be sorry at all.it was designed to end up in single payer, which will be worse.
Dittos Windflier
Please remember a Republican Congress could always remit/rebate all PPACA penalties.
For 2014, when the individual penalty was $95/year, the total that would have to be rebated would be about $200 million, 1/180th of 1% of the federal budget.
For 2016, when the individual penalty was ~$750/year, the total that would have to be rebated would be about $2 billion, 1/20th of 1% of the federal budget.
Last night’s vote was theater.
They lie when they say their bills repeal ACA. The Republicans have no intention of repealing ACA, only amending it.
Act 1 was the House, Act 2, was the Senate, and the final Act is McConnell telling us “move on”.
If they put an iota of the effort spent deceiving us into doing what they promised we wouldn’t have so many problems. Their record is a century of failure.
It is time to move on from the Republican party.
We did. That's why we voted for Trump.
“I trust the marketplace. The marketplace always works when utilized.”
The marketplace generally works, but not always. The stock market fails repeatedly. The housing market fails badly about once every generation [twenty years].
The hospital marketplace has been failing since the 1960’s, when Medicare money made it possible for hospital pricing to rise.
The drug marketplace has been failing ever since state governments began mandating coverage of drugs regardless of their price simply because they were FDA-approved. This state drug coverage mandate caused the pre-existing condition exclusions.
I believe in the market, because it works better than government does, as we have learned again very recently.
My market-force plan, version 4.8 is at my home page here:
http://www.freerepublic.com/~briangriffin
Yes, it has subsidies, but they are based on PPACA historical amounts for state capital areas for 50-year olds and adjusted for age, etc.
Sorry the marketplace works ever time utilized. I do not support socialism even when forced upon me
