He can’t possibly know where he picked up the bacteria or how long he’d been carrying it around.
One in four people carry MRSA around on their skin. I wouldn’t be surprised that the flesh eating bacteria was about the same.
I know of someone who end up with a MRSA infection with NO breaks in the skin at all, no injury that they could ever trace it to. The doctors cannot figure out how or where he got the infection, but it about killed him.
