Little kids playing soccer is just as "cool" as WNBA. The NBA has been trying to shove this crap product down our throats since the inception of the league and the only people who follow the league are the L in LGBT.

I think media helps to set agendas, Leonsis said Wednesday afternoon. I mean, you either get neglect or snark [about the WNBA]
There was an episode of the Mary Tyler Moore Show where Mary Richards decides to hire a woman sports reporter (unusual in those days) and sold her on the basis of her qualifications as a top athlete (women's swimming). She spent a majority of the sportscast reporting on swimming, especially women's swimming, and ratings suffered and she was released and Mary was embarrassed.
Fictitious story, but plays more like real life than the quotation above.

Here in Seattle within the last week, the local WNBA team announced a partnership with Planned Parenthood, and their star player came out as a lesbian - just the sort of things to broaden their appeal. /sarc.

It might broaden (no pun intended) the appeal of these womens’ teams somewhat if more of their members were heterosexuals instead of either men in drag or ball-busting lesbian feminazis.
Women don’t watch womens’ sports, and if men do, they either want to see hotness or prowess (preferably both). They don’t want to listen to yet another screed about how having testicles makes them somehow subhuman.

At least, Im told she addressed the crowd. No one could possibly hear her. The crowd was too loud. She should have turned the microphone on. 57 people can't make that much noise.

I devote my allotted time for women’s sports to lingerie football. Hours of it on utube.

I stopped watching professional basketball, or any kind of basketball, when I realized that, it's the number one ambition of black kids all over the land, and as such, it's a killer sport, since a lot of potential is wasted early on in young people's lives. Even if kids eventually find out that they're not equipped to play professionally, it's still a big time waster in their arsenal of activities. I know first-hand how a young man lost his job because he didn't have the discipline to stay away from the basketball court, and lost his good-paying job as a computer programmer. I know, because I had to lay him off after having to go find him to figure out why he was out so often from work or arrived late or left early. His wife tried to beg for the company to let him keep his job, but she too knew that his first love was basketball.
Not everybody is the same, and I might be stereotyping many of them, but those kids need to have other dreams.

Before I moved from CT, I was a partial season ticket of the Connecticut Sun (the WNBA team owned by the Mohegan tribe) along with the UConn women’s basketball team. Good league and I wish I could support the NWHL (National Women’s Hockey League) Connecticut Whale.

I am a self-avowed sports nut but I cant name a single team in the WNBA. Nor do I care to learn anything about the league.

I watched approximately 2 minutes of a televised WNBA game, but I could not figure out what the W stood for so I changed the channel.

I watched second half of WNBA All Star game yesterday and frankly was very surprised and the low caliber of play from most of the “Stars.” The one who had just won the 3 pointer contest couldn’t hit an open shot. It was embarrassing. Of course they were missing a few better players but basically the problem is that people just don’t care about dykeball.

If you refused to watch the WNBA, you might have missed something on Wednesday, but you didn’t miss anything any other day. I’ll take that deal.
