If your computer needs a time check more than once a week, it’s probably time for a new computer, or maybe motherboard battery.

I’ve tried ‘em all and after no end of timeouts and connection failures, the best always-works app for users is www.timesynchtool.com You synch to a pool of NTP servers, let their sysadmins all over the world sync with NIST. The above tool automatically demotes servers experience connection problems so you’re always using the best one for your location.

Computer clocks are notoriously bad.

I've suggested Dimension 4 from ThinkingMan software. Been very happy with it.

http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/default.htm

Freeware for personal use.

Use software from the “Chaos Software Group” that has an unlimited supply of juvenile exclamation points? I think I will take a pass on this opportunity!!!! No thanks!!!

Besides, I use a Mac.

Doesn’t Windows already have this built in? The time always seems right on.

Windows syncs to ‘Internet Time’ that it gets from your service provider’s server clock. Of course, if you have no external internet connection, your computer’s clock just runs in its own little world..........

“Of course, if you have no external internet connection, your computer’s clock just runs in its own little world”

Well doesn’t your Atomic Clock Sync also require an Internet connection to get the time?

Well, yeah, I’m just saying that with no way to sync to the outside world, your computer clock will run fast or slow progressively unless you manually update it. Computer’s internal clocks are terrible without the sync........................
