CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas A Texas man who became trapped inside an ATM slipped notes to customers via the receipt slot pleading for them to help him escape, police said Thursday.
The contractor became stuck Wednesday when he was changing a lock to a Bank of America room that leads to the back of the ATM, Corpus Christi police Lt. Chris Hooper said. He couldnt let himself out of the room because he didnt have a keycard on him and was unable to notify bank employees for help.
Apparently he left his cellphone and the swipe card he needed to get out of the room outside in his truck, Hooper said.
When he realized customers were retrieving cash from the machine, he passed notes to them through the ATM receipt slot. One read, Please help. Im stuck in here and I dont have my phone. Please call my boss ...
Some customers appeared to dismiss the notes as a gag, Hooper said

Thank God Jane Fonda wasn’t using the ATM that day.
I wonder how many lawyers have contacted him so far. Luckily there was not a fire in there.
I would have thought it was a new version of Candid Camera being filmed, with me as the prospective stooge.
The designer of those ATM should see this as a warning. Somebody could have lost their lives, if this had been a long quiet weekend, with little ATM use in that area. This should never be possible.
Foolish Thoughts:
**Good thing he had a strong bladder (& bowel!!).
“Hi. Do you have Prince Albert in a can?
“Then let him out!!”
Lawyers?
He left the keycard in his truck-——he goofed.
.
Post of the day.
BofA?
Were any of his pleas for help en Español?
If not, I’m surprised that they even found him there.
It wasn't the ATM, it was the service room behind the ATM.
"P.S. .... Smile! You're on Candid Camera!"
Okay then, the designer of that workplace attached to the ATM. They need to have contingency plans built in.
For instance, I think most trunks in our cars have a button or lever you can push to open from the inside.
Somebody is going to get fired.
How the heck did he get in there w/out his keycard?
Bwahahahaha
Ok..I admit. If I had a note like that come out of the ATM I’d probably laugh and walk off thinking it was a gag.
I also believe there should be an ‘SOS’ key for customers who are being robbed/ordered to get cash from their ATM by force. Thieves know how to fool the cameras.
People use ATM machines at their peril - they need a button (or a gun).
Walk-up ATMs I try to avoid due to safety considerations. At a drive thru ATM, I usually won’t use it if I have to wait behind someone. I’d rather have a chance to drive straight forward in case of a safety problem.
