I saw Eraserhead in a theatre located in the off limits area of Naples, Italy. I'm sure I was the only American in the theater. It made for a surreal setting.

I must admit 1977 was an uninspiring year. I was 15.

The only worse cars than those in 1977 were those in 1976...1975...1974...1973...1978...1979...
A lot of the '73s did not yet have catalytic converters. I'll take a '73 Dart over a '77 Aspen any day.

That was the largest crowd for a single artist event. 76,000+
They had no opening act, as with curfews and a desire to play 3.5 to 4 hours a night, what do you do. Plus it was Zep’s stage, no one else’s.
They would stay in hotels in NY, Chicago, New Orleans, and LA and commute to the shows on a Boeing 707.

If you lived through the 70’s and claim to remember it then you weren’t there.

Got my drivers license. Behaving rather badly with my friends and our girlfriends. Hated disco. We were the rock and roll crowd. 1st time in a strip club. Sammy’s Go Go lounge in B’ham. Running the streets, going to concerts. Mostly at BJCC. House parties. Girlfriend who was a little older got a “Bandit” Trans Am for her 16th. Loving life!
Lucky to be alive.

“I watched Eraserhead, was so disturbed by it,”
Ditto here, but smoked hash prior to the screening...BAD idea.
Never touched drugs since.

College, freshman and sophomore years. I remember it as an extremely boring time. Cat Scratch Fever was one of the better tunes that year.

40 years ago I was in boot camp at MCRD in San Diego.

1977 I was thirty. September I returned from a business trip to various points in Europe, and upon my return asked the lovely lady next to me to be my wife, and she said “yes”. We were married the following April 30th in 1978.
1977 was a very good year. The best “yes” I ever heard.

I was a long haired, dope smoking, care free, high school hippy listening to Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath in a continuous loop.
My last year of childhood, really. I was 17 and love, graduation and the real world were just around the corner.

1977? Unfortunately I was living a lifestyle that would be featured in 1978's Animal House: fat, drunk, and stupid .......

Yes it was a Star Wars summer. For Seattle and Toronto it was the birth of the Mariners and Blue Jays. In politics it was Carter in the WH for his first year of his disaster Presidency. Disco and Punk Rock were in full swing.
