A MALE FAIRY TALE Once upon a time, a Prince asked a beautiful Princess,
"Will you marry me?"
The Princess immediately said, "No!"
And the Prince lived happily ever after, and rode motorcycles and dated thin, long-legged, full-breasted women, and hunted and fished and raced cars, and went to titty bars and dated ladies half his age and drank whiskey, beer, and Captain Morgan, and never heard bitching and never paid child support or alimony, and dated cheerleaders and kept his house and guns, and ate spam and potato chips and beans, and blew enormous farts, and never got cheated on while he was at work, and all his friends and family thought he was friggin' cool as hell, and he had tons of money in the bank, and left the toilet seat up. The End. **********
Can’t disagree with the way you said that.
Cheers and Regards. :)
supposedly conservative FReeper women
As it turns out Today is my 6th anniversary
After 25 rears she divorced me 6 years 11 1/2 hours ago. It was also the first time I MET the Real wife.
I have won every smiling contest I entered today
There are many anti-marriage male Freepers even tho the website center headline reads:
Welcome to Free Republic!
Conservatives for God, Family, Country!

Threads like these bring them out. Sadly, they will never understand what you are saying...
Of course they will. Truth always ‘outs’.
A lot of these guys have just been beaten to a pulp by the politicization and legalism that have intruded upon the very private issue of marriage in our culture, over recent decades.
That could have many meanings, and possibly more universal ones that just those relating to husband/wife issues :-)
LOL you are more optimistic than I am...Most of the anti-marriage crowd seem to be bitter/soured on a bad marriage or relationship.
Regardless, it is good to present the truth, I just am amazed at the responses, but who knows maybe some minds will be changed.
Disclosure, I have 3 grown kids...One happily married;
1 girl looking one boy looking...neither of them finding it easy...
Teach the boy to think with the Big Brain, instead of the little one. Teach the girl to idealize and consider character in a man, above all.
(I’m sure you’ve done this, and things will work out fine ;-)
They are both looking for quality spouses, but interesting that both genders feel that pickings are few and far between.
I have told them life is not a relay race, take time find right person...which is what they are doing.
Exactly. It’s a marathon, not a sprint - and they have plenty of time. I think one of the reasons that marriages among young people go bad is because they rush into it. When you are young, there are so many apparent pressures; but you can just ignore them, relax, get interested in hobbies, intellectual pursuits, and people who are also interested in them - and then the marriage stuff will come more naturally.
Men want reliable sex; women want to settle down, and make house and babies. Slow down! There’s never been a better time than now, for young couples to just take it slow and naturally; ponder life a little, learn a little ‘deferred gratification’. It’s surprising what can happen, when you just learn to relax about everything ;-)
I don’t think anyone here is saying you should marry someone you don’t want to. But you shouldn’t be sexing with them either in that case.
Don’t think anyone wants to see browbeating into marriage either. Another reason to keep it in thy pants. Once you make a baby you consign it to death or single parent and that is not right, unless you marry. The only way to avoid making a child is to not. Have. Sex.
“Marry me or else” what? You date to see if you are compatible enough to marry. If a woman doesn’t want to date for five years while you dither that’s her perogative. But she can say it nicely.
If there is no one out there that meets your standards so be it. However to assume like this fairy tale of exploitative self indulgence and fornication is somehow going to make you happy is foolish. It’s the way of death.
Also highly unlikely. Few largebreasted delightful women want to be flavor of the month for a farty angry guy they probably don’t want the stds and if they get pregnant they may well kill your child.
I don’t think doing things Gods way is selfish. It’s just right. The majority should marry but some are called to singleness which also has its place and purpose.
Yeah some aren’t into it. I’d assume they are the ones called to singleness?
With respect, you really do not understand what MGTOW is about.
These guys are not interested in having anything to do with women for the most part. They have come to the conclusion it isn’t for them, the system in place by society, government and the women themselves, they have decided it is not worth the downsides.
They have a right to go their own way. Your whole reply smacks of derision and assumptions that the guys are irresponsible and you do not take the same attitude towards the women or ever even think that the women themselves may have serious problems as to why men are beginning to avoid them/not wanting to marry them.
A man has no obligation to be a woman’s wallet and emotional crying post, only to work hard and she gets bored and decides to bail with half his accumulated wealth without any negative consequences for herself for breaching the marriage contract.
See, if we had the old safeguards in the courts and society that used to restrain female hypergamy, it would be a different story. But they are gone and only one party is held to the marriage contract, and it isn’t the woman. There is no downside or risk for her in marriage and all the risk and downsides are on the man.
Men have no obligation to voluntarily allow a woman to destroy their lives.
I think we’re done here because you’re not getting this and I am tired of talking about it. Have a good one.
I was responding more to the fairy tale and not much to the MGTOW. but good night to you also.
Don’t buy it because no real man eats Spam!
...and then his country was filled with foreigners.
I don’t think marriage is for everyone, especially in this day and age, but everyone should understand the consequences of the decisions they make either way. Plenty of horror stories about marriage, and plenty of horror stories about living in a country where Americans are disappearing.
Politically Incorrect..
I wear it as a Badge of Honor!
Dad was a Marine fighting in the Pacific during WW2.
Mom, his then girlfriend asked around what service men like to eat. Someone told her they eat Spam. So mom wrapped up a can of spam and sent it to him. He was kidded by the other jar heads unmercifully, when he opened mom's gift to him.
I think most men would trade a decade off their old age, if they could have an enjoyable life prior to that.
Honey, no. she said, You know I cant do that. Why would you even ask me? He told her that all the other guys complained about their wives and told awful stories about them but did not believe him when he talked about her and how she does and how she wasnt like those other wives at all. OK, she said, I know what to do. She told him to invite them all over to the house and she would put on a great meal for them and he agreed that that would do the trick.
When the time came she was as good as her word and the friends were amazed as she jumped right to it whenever he gave her an order. He was showing off, he thought, when he commanded her this or that the whole evening, until...
You are dirt. You are scum! What do you mean going to the bar every night with a woman like this at home!? they said. If I had a wife like that at home I would never leave. How can you treat her like that? They said they never wanted to see him again and they all left. He was devastated and ashamed. He apologized to her for how hed treated her, and that night she had the joy of leading her husband to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
She would be embarrassed if she knew I was posting this. I am making up the dialog, but I think I have it right in essentials. They became pillars of the church to this day, and there is a big beautiful happy family to show for it, and I doubt her children even know the story.
