Wow: Donald Trump Jr. Releases the Emails -- and They Look a lot Like, Um, Collusion
Townhall ^ | July 11, 2017 | Guy Benson

Posted on 07/11/2017 2:54:35 PM PDT by righttackle44

Earlier today, here at Townhall and on Fox News, I said that more information needed to be gathered before anyone should declare the Donald Trump, Jr. story a bombshell or a dud. First and foremost, I argued, it would be very helpful to see the actual emails that preceded the now-infamous June meeting, which the New York Times claimed would demonstrate that the president's son was well aware of the alleged source and nature of the promised anti-Clinton information (which never materialized) in advance. The Times story was rooted in unnamed sources who characterized, but apparently did not produced, the messages in question. In order to determine if the documents were being mischaracterized, we should see them, I said. About an hour later, Donald Trump, Jr. tweeted the full four-page exchange, which Cortney relayed here. Trump Jr. cast his tweets as efforts at full transparency, but one can't help but wonder if there was another pressing motive at play: He preempted the Times, which had the chain and was about to run with it. In any case, the content of these emails was, in my case, literally jaw-dropping. Trump Jr's associate alerted him to the supposed existence of highly sensitive information regarding wrongdoing tied to Mrs. Clinton, telling him that it would be furnished by a "Russian government attorney" who was representing "Russia and its government's support for Mr. Trump" (who now claims she wasn't tied to the Kremlin). To which Trump Jr. replied, "if it's what you say I love it." This couldn't be much clearer: And these shifts look really bad, especially when you read the quote from March in which Trump Jr. flatly denies meeting with any Russian nationals in arranged meetings: . . .

Not sure why he released the emails. Why not ignore the whole deal?

By releasing the e-mails, Trump Jr. undermined the ability of the media to make blatantly false representations in their reporting on what was in them.

Go back to the whole James Comey charade and see how easy it was for the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN to run stories with claims about the contents of Comey's memos that turned out to be completely false after Comey's testimony was made public.

This is the end for Trump

Not. Are you freaking kidding me?

As Jonathan Turley said, if it was killing pandas, it’d be an endangered species act violation. But it’s just NOT. And it’s not a crime whatsoever.

Even though they didn’t produce anything at that meeting, a lot of things that happened subsequently look bad.

Could they have been setting up Trump for blackmail over trying to get the information? (Remember, they already had their hooks in Hillary. This would be a good way to hedge their bets.)

Let’s not be like the left and blindly, automatically defend “our side” automatically, no matter what. We’re better than that.

“Russians are not bad.”

Correct. For eight long and painful years Obastard colluded with muslims. In and out of the White House he colluded and conspired with our enemies to destroy America.

And the media whores agreed with his anti-American policies.

Is Russia our enemy? No? Then why the media and leftist hate toward them?

Why wouldn't Don Jr. want to be a responsible citizen, listen to evidence of corruption by Hillary Clinton and pass that information onto the FBI?

(((YAWN))) More "Russki" sh*t? LOL.

Why isn't anyone investigating the commie "democrats" for colluding with Mexico, Central and South America for them to send their criminals, bottomfeeders, gangstas and freeloaders to America to vote for the commie 'RAT party candidates? Investigate THAT and I'll be impressed.

Clinton TOOK illegal campaign contributions from the FBI and the media collectively yawned.

The FBI ended up circulating a phony dossier about Trump to John McCain and the media and media used it to attack Trump.

-- I am forced to ask myself what would we be saying if it was one of the Clinton Cartel who was getting dirt on Trump from a foreign power? --

Your reaction would depend on the quality of the dirt, and how that quality was represented.

We have a dim view of the dodgey dossier, because it is dodgey and full of falsehood.

If any operative or acquaintance of any Trump can be alleged to have said "hello" to a suspected Russian-TREASON!!!! IMPEACH!!!!
When Paul Ryan chimes in then we will know they actually think they have something concrete. Heretofore they have not even suspected they had anything real. They are just keeping the hysteria going with the idea that all that manufactured smoke will convince the voters that there must be a fire there somewhere. If they can get his ratings down below 20% Ryan will probably call for impeachment no matter if they have anything or not. No criminal offense even has to be alleged. "Crimes and Misdemeanors" is left up to the Congress to define and can be the length of his tie. It is entirely a political process.

My favorite is Hillary Clinton's people saying that President Trump must have known about the meeting.

Just like Hillary must have known that her server was illegal, or must have known that the emails had classified data?

I'm impressed about how the establishment still gives Hillary every benefit of doubt, while Trump gets none.

Hillary had no intent, and Trump had every intent.

Comey said that no prosecutor would charge Hillary, but Mueller is forming a Magnificent Seven posse of Democrat gunslingers to take out Trump.

Furthermore...

Clinton trying to get oppo research on Trump from a former MI-6 agent is not "British meddling" in the election, but Trump trying to get oppo research from a Russian lawyer IS "Russian meddling?"

If you stop and think about it, you have a British spy giving the Clinton campaign a fake dossier on Trump, and a British PR agent offering Trump oppo research on Clinton.

Was it really the British who were trying to influence the American election???

. I am not sure if this is illegal, but it is disturbing.

It would be disturbing if Don Jr. hadn't met with the woman. If there is evidence of more criminal behavior by the Clintons, someone needs to find out about it and relay it to the FBI.

Oh the horror! Trying to get dirt on your campaign opponent! Nothing about this passes the smell test. The NYT trying to pass this as real news because they heard from their friends brothers, third cousins best friends girlfriend who saw Ferris and Trump jr. at 31 flavors eating Russian dressing on their ice cream. Total BS! And Trump jr. putting out email kills any further attempts to speculate on the email trail. All is a pile of NYT CRAP!

Oh, the way Clinton hired a British spy to do opposition research? Or the way Obama hired West Bank boiler rooms to process credit card donations. Gore and the Clintons raised tons of shady money from China.

There is nothing, nada, zip, illegal about a foreigner telling a campaign information about the opposition.

By the way, has anyone heard what the big scoop was?
And this guy who set up this meeting, repeatedly contacting Trump junior, he’s some kind of democrat. Just watch.
