No sympathy whatsoever. Voters insist on having a blatant hardcore commie anarchist as Mayor, a city council that is so far left that they held an "Ethel Rosenberg day" celebrating her for "great bravery" - something they never did for cops killed in the line of duty - and a corrupt rat as Governor.

I am sure many of these 600,000 commuters will not mind seeing how comrade Bill is on top of the climate change crisis

And just so you non-NYers know, we who live near, but not in NYC, have been paying to support this
wonderful transportation system for years now. To get from my home in NJ to where I grew up on Long Island I pay $17 round-trip in tolls for one stinking bridge. (The Throgs Neck Bridge. I also use the George Washington Bridge which is $15 RT, but that money goes for other boondoggles like building the WTC, and this thread is about the trains.) When this bridge was opened in 1961, they charged a quarter each way to pay off the bonds that were issued to pay for the bridge.
These bonds were long ago paid off. The bridge is now a cash-cow that supports the "Metropolitan Transportation Authority," which somehow took over the bridges under Mayor John Lindsey so he wouldn't have to raise the cost of a subway token again. But probably most of the money has been diverted into the hands of the politicians who live in more and bigger McMansions. It certainly hasn't helped the motorists who use the bridges.

Cuomo should take a tip from the late Gov. Rockefeller (R-NY)
Wait a bit and then just proclaim Penn Station the BEST STATION in the world.......and, voila.

There's a funny story about the language the MTA uses in our local paper:
subway-speak.
NEW YORK CITY GOP MAN said his favorite explanation was "There's another train in front of this one. As soon as that train moves, this train will move too."

Attempting to experience sympathy... failed.
Sorry, I just don't have any sympathy for anyone that lives in that freak show of a city-state by choice.
