Who's your favorite movie villain?
Mrs. Dudley tries to give that same speech later to Claire Bloom’s character, and “Theo” ignores her.
Hi Morty!
True, but we still love to watch the old black and white classic horror movies.
Neegan from walking dead
Do you remember a movie titled "It Conquered the World," from 1956? It starred Peter Graves, Beverly Garland, and Lee Van Cleef. In that movie they had these bat-like creatures that flew through the air, and landed on people's necks, and inserted some wires or antennae that controlled your mind and emotions. I remembered the bat-like creatures, but it wasn't until I just looked it up, that I recalled there was a weird looking alien creature too.
Snidely Whiplash. Does anyone else remember him?
Yes, Theo. She was a strange one wasn’t she? Remember when they were in the bedroom, and the loud knocking, and pounding started and went on for what seemed forever? The door bowed in and out, and the door knob jiggled, and when it was finally all over, Eleanor said she had kept her eyes tightly closed the whole time, but was glad that Theo had taken hold of her hand. Then Theo tells her “I wasn’t holding your hand”, and Eleanor cries out: “God! God! Whose hand was I holding?” I was 16 when I saw that in the theater, and it stayed with me. At the time, it was the scariest movie I had ever seen.
Chiwetel Ejiofor in Serenity. Just the kind of guy I fear is populating our alphabet agencies today.
“My whole gang’s a bunch of funny boys.”
Eric Von Zipper and his gang.
Yeah. The Joker for sure.
Siân Phillips as Livia Drusilla in I, Claudius
That was a memorable scene. The movie villain in “The Haunting” was the house.
I have just started to read a recent biography of Shirley Jackson.
Yes, I have seen several posts about him. I should have posted that he is being “portrayed” as an SOB. Obviously, more than a little artistic license is being taken by the writers.
When hubby and I were in the courtship stage, he lived in CA. I worked for UAL, so I got to fly cheaply. I visited him one weekend in CA, and he had gotten tickets to visit the Getty Museum. I think it has since moved, which is a real disappointment because when you first arrive at the museum it looks like a Roman Villa.
Anyway, this was close to the time that I, Claudius was being shown on PBS for the first time. Livia was a horrible, horrible person. So, when I was wandering about the museum, I saw a sculpture of the head of a noble woman, and she was beautiful. And, the sculptor had brought out a serenity in the face that was marvelous. I don't know how these artists were able to do that, but it was lovely. Anyway, I look at the nameplate and it said Livia.
I don't know if she was as evil as she was portrayed to be in I, Claudius; but, she was beautiful.
I’m going to have to get that.
I second that, Alan Rickman, Die Hard
My fave movie? hard to say.
I loved all the old SciFi Stuff.
“The Man who would be King” still sticks with me
