One of my favorites ever.

Very evocative — whenever I heard it I could picture a bunch of groovy people laughing, drinking and dancing == in the moonlight.

This song paints the perfect word picture.

‘73?? OMG, I feel real old right now. I was dancing to this in High School. (Still love the song though).

Had a major mispent youth. I played guitar for a biker band. Hooked up with a lady who taught me some things. This song rocks me.

IIRC, the flip side of the 45 was “Marty and the Captain”.

One of the first records I recall owning. I don’t think my kids would recognize the plastic adapter for running those 45s on a phonograph.

Oh well, for my dad it was probably ice tongs or something like it.

Independence Day 1973 was a joyous time in my life. I had just graduated from college and was accepted into graduate school. Meanwhile, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy was climbing the charts..

Almost as good as these songs are the comments on youtube.
They make me both happy and sad at the same time.

I miss the old days...

I appreciate these song threads. Amazing how certain pop songs bring back very specific memories and how you can go decades without hearing a certain song but when you do hear it again, you can name it on the first few notes. I guess I’m one of the older ones because I remember this song very well. Definitely a summer song and I remember having my windows open on hot nights and hearing the backyard parties that my neighbors were throwing, with the chinese lanterns, loud music and everybody having a good time.
