Finally, a way to make golf exciting.
A moose once chased me off of the golf course?
Perhaps they should let loose hundreds of elk in Sweden’s “no go” zones.
What is the difference between Moose and Elk?
Well, this is a hard one, so read carefully.
The photo above shows a Moose (in North American English) but it is also an Elk (in British English). So, they are the same animal species. But then it gets really confusing, because in North America there is another member of the Deer family, the Wapiti, which is also called Elk. So, the Swedish Älg (Alces alces) is a Moose in American English and an Elk in British English. But the Elk in Europe is not the same as an Elk in North America. Confused? Perhaps you need to read this again!
Another way to say it is There are two different Elks, but only one Moose. And thats the reason why we choose to call it Moose.
“I said, DON’T goose that moose!”
The one incident I will always remember happened at a golf course in Seabrook Island SC. There were half a dozen ponds on the course and the plenty of woods marked "poisonous snakes present". One of the guys in my foursome hit a long drive and it ended up near one of those lakes. He walks up to the ball getting ready to hit next shot, and there was an alligator sunning nearby may be 10 feet away. None of us saw the gator because they blend in and stay motionless. As soon as our golfer hit the shot, the gator woke up and jumped in to the lake with a splash. He almost peed in his pants and the rest of us got away as fast as we could.
Guess the golfer thought it was a Muslim
Good thing momma was not around. She would stomped the golfer into the green. Around here I give moose with calves a wide berth. A local got messed up here a couple of years ago.
A moose calf is no joke. A single hit from a hoof can kill you.
That’s not an elk calf; it’s a moose calf. They are very different from each other.
