Do you buy insurance covering your carrying guns, specifically CCW, but any for that matter? And if you are a range safety office, do you buy insurance coverage for that?
Thanks
So am i looking to get in a car accident no
Not to make light of your comment, my attorney once told me if I ever shot someone to make sure I killed them instead of maiming them because estates settle for less.
I'm NOT kidding.
When I was an RSO I carried insurance. As a humble CCW individual, No.
1911s should be on the “approved” list in CA.
YES. Thats the ‘Accident Forgiveness’ rider. It can only be engaged by the policy holder, himself, and requires no official notifications what so ever.
I was not either kidding that is
Nope.
I cannot afford life insurance.
Why would i consider “gun” insurance?
I consider the whole damn thing another around the bush method of Communist gun registration.
They cannot get YOU to do it, but they CAN force a business to do it.
I didn’t think you were! :-)
Ditto on Texas Law Shiel. They cover you from bang to done, reasonable price. I’m sure they look after you if you are being sued also.
I’ve been with them since their start. If you pull the trigger, call the cops, give a brief “I had no choice, and had to shoot to save innocent life” then, refuse further statements until you consult your attorney. Then call the 24 hour phone number and they will send a qualified attorney to represent you going forward.
They include multiple states, not just Texas. Might even be all 50 by now.
I hear the “USCCA” policy is good. I have an “umbrella liability” policy thru my homeowners insurance, but I am pretty sure that wouldn’t be too useful in a shooting incident, will have to check with my agent.

I added a rider to my homeowners policy to cover my gats.
Couple things I'd mention, maybe some of FR's attorneys can clarify these things, I'm not.
Check with the company to see what you're purchasing, most do cover civil damages. As do some umbrella liability policys. Others specifically exclude firearms. Ask your agent and read the policy for an exclusion.
Also, while some may provide some funds up front toward attorneys fees and bail, it's insurance, largely paid at the conclusion of the case. It's your expense till then. That's what appeals to me about the Legal Defense rather than insurance concept, if I read their website correctly.
Also, if you're found guilty, insurance doesn't generally cover you if you were acting illegally. Something relatively simple, like illegal discharge in defense of your life, you might be OK but ask your attorney and the insurer if you might be depending on it.
