The Associated Press is at it again, pushing more fake news. Sadly, the once-great news wire service is trying to cover up its mistakenearly the exact mistake that cost three editorial staffers at CNN their jobs in a scandal that first exploded a week ago today.
A Breitbart News investigation has led to the correction by the Associated Presswhich originally resistedof the fake news it printed as deeper questions of responsibility, accountability, and journalistic ethics consume the AP heading into Fourth of July weekend.
This time, the Associated Press invented an imaginary meeting between EPA administrator Scott Pruitt and Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris, and then alleged that some kind of impropriety happened as a result.
This is exactly the same mistake CNN made a week ago, when it alleged that Anthony Scaramuccithe founder of SkyBridge Capital and an associate and ally of President Donald Trumpheld meetings with Russian investment fund leaders and was under investigation by the Senate Intelligence Committee and Treasury Department as a result.

Everyone mentioned by these vipers should sue them, retraction or no!
I had just read that article.
Trump’s tweeting is crass and boorish at times, but him calling out the media for lying and generating fake news needs to be done.
If I were Trump, I would tell his press people to pull the credentials for all AP and CNN personnel from the white house and any Executive Branch building and function.
Come and make a simple statement from the podium. If you participate in generating fake news, you will NOT be allowed in the White House, period.
They are slowly but surely becoming irrelevant....
They died decades ago and are now just the walking, talking, writing dead!
I’m sick of fake news and I am sick of celebrities being so freaking crude and disrespectful. We must boycott. WE have to make them feel it. They never pay any price.
ping
The AP actually came out with a story about their bogus reporting.
When have we ever seen the media do this?
Amen
Pull the credentials.
Agreed. This last round of tweets about Joe and Mike made me wonder why? What on earth was the point of it all. I think he has his reasons. Hopefully there is more swamp draining going on than we all realize.

Statuate of limitations may not have run.
Anyone interview associates from 15 years ago?
Trump could have made those tweets anytime between New Year’s Eve and now. Why wait?
Yesterday, while the media was so focused on itself, the House passed Kate’s Law and the sanctuary cities laws.
Distraction?
I learned 25 years ago that AP was a propaganda tool of some very sinister types.
They printed extreme lies and fabrications on a particular subject that I was well versed in. AP printed these fabrications over the course of a decade consistently in a such a manner that it became to me they were pursing a agenda unrelated to the truth.
AP is fake news. Never believe anything with a AP byline
Zombie news!
Ditto and SPOT ON !
But now, thanks to our president, EVERYONE knows what AP is and is not!
Yes; exactly so! :-)
It looks like ‘lie’ is the root word for liberal.
Thanks for the ping. The Associated Press is the center of the MSM. The First Amendment expresses the right of the people to read or hear whatever (non libelous, lest we be forced back to dueling) speech/printing we wanna. On terms agreeable to the speaker/printer. That right is a derivative, or corollary if you will, of the right to speak and print.
But the right to speak and print is not a title of nobility or of priesthood. It is only a right of the people, and all of us. Not just the AP and its member newspapers/broadcasters. The AP newswire is a continuous virtual meeting of all major news organizations, and its participants - all members of the same trade, journalism - function precisely as Adam Smith would have predicted:
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is impossible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and justice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary. - Adam Smith, Wealth of NationsThe AP is a conspiracy against the public. It was found by SCOTUS to be in violation of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act back in 1945, and in the decades since it has gotten even worse. Even as its justification - the conservation of scarce, expensive data transmission bandwidth - has been obliterated by optical fiber and satellite communication technology. The AP should be sued into oblivion. Along with its members it is responsible for propaganda which, acted upon, led directly to the attempted murder of half the Republicans in Congress. We have had enough, and more than enough, of their conspiracy against the public.
I don’t find Trump’s tweeting near as crass as Mika going around with her face bloody from surgery. Stay home until it heals. And definitely not as crass and boorish as a dead intern in a congressman’s office and some unbelievable reason offered.
AP was once the gold standard in news gathering...
