Southern California police are searching for a motorcyclist who was involved in an alleged road rage incident that injured one person on Wednesday.
Around 5:45 a.m., witnesses driving southbound on State Road 14 near Newhall Avenue in Santa Clarita, California, filmed an altercation between the motorcyclist and the driver of a silver sedan, according to California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Joshua Greengard.
In the video, the motorcyclist appears to try to kick the sedan on the right. In response, the sedan veers to the left and briefly collides with the motorcyclist before losing control and crashing into the highway divider wall.
The momentum from the crash sent the sedan toward the middle lane of the highway, where it collided with a white Cadillac pickup truck, causing the truck to overturn.

Idiots.
Whoa!
There video is pretty clear. Nothing to allege. The motorcyclist and car hit each other with the car trying to take out the motorcycle. It backfired on the driver of the car.
Instant karma for the moron in the sedan.
The car had a pretty good sized dent where the biker was kicking.
Stupid people doing stupid things. Both the rider and driver.
Kalifornia allows ‘white lining’. My cousin’s husband calls them organ donors.
In theory, I agree with white lining. At 20MPH or less. I’ve been stuck in Kali freeway (parking lot) traffic before on a bike. It’s the pits. Above that I agree with my cousin in law. And I’ve seen it done at 55+ in heavy traffic.
Kicking a cage while on a bike, is Darwin at its finest. The motorcyclist got lucky.
Could that be a FReeper driving the silver sedan?
According to the tape, the motorcyclist kicked the driver’s door, the driver lost control, and other vehicles were struck. Motorcyclist drives off leaving injured behind. Motorcyclist is going to prison, and is going to get sued. I know you all think you know what you saw, but you haven’t seen it with his lawyer explaining it.
A good attorney would claim that the driver of that sedan was startled by the motorcyclist kicking the driver’s side door with enough force to dent it and lost control of the car as a result. It would be difficult to prove otherwise on the basis of that video.
I get the feeling you two have been bent over in a court of law before.
That’s really scary. I’ve driven down that freeway so many times and those people are going FAST.
I have been. I get the feeling you believe things not evident in that video.
First blood was the scooter rider kicking the car.
The car was driving in a straight line in his lane and the bike came over into his lane, got close enough and then kicked him, at which point the car tried to get him away.
I see this as the biker at fault. Notice he also did a hit and run.
Oh, I think I see what happened from viewing the video but I probably don’t see it from an evidentiary POV. Or I didn’t until you guys posted. 4 seconds apart FWIW.
Stupid people doing stupid things. Both the rider and driver.
I have watched hundreds of crash and road rage compilation videos. I’ve seen a lot of this stuff and often the guy doing the recording doesn’t even realize he’s part of the problem.
Not in this case, but it happens a lot.
And the arrogant a*$(*&@#*^ motorcyclist just keeps going.
I ***HATE*** with a passion the *Watch for motorcycle* signs I see everywhere.
It’s well past time motorcyclists started driving like responsible drivers too.
I don’t want to hear any whining from them about how bad the drivers are until they clean up their own act.
REading the description, it sounds like they were going at each other verbally before the recording began, but the motorcyclist is the one who ramped it up with physical contact.
To be frank, I’d have done exactly what the guy in the car did, except I wouldn’t have lost control. It was clearly a self defense move. And being bigger does not take away your right to self defense.
Not that the guy in the car was not part of the problem, but what do you do when someone, at speed, kicks in your door. What you do is try to take him out.
I think you are exactly right.
