“Multiple people down!” Bubba Hinson exclaimed as he live-streamed a video of what started as a mob stalling traffic, but turned into a mass shooting on Ocean Boulevard early Sunday morning.
Eight people were injured in three shootings that erupted this weekend around heavily trafficked tourist areas in Myrtle Beach. At least one of the shootings was caught on the camera of a visitor, who streamed it live on Facebook. The video went viral with over 1 million views by Sunday afternoon.
Some tourists say they won’t return to Myrtle Beach anytime soon.

There are dozens of VERY nice, smaller, secluded beaches up and down the SC and NC coast that are WAY better for family vacations.
still, MB does serve a useful function: it serves as a shit magnet for the spring student riots and the various Amish skirmishes, thereby keeping the rest of the beaches free of trash.
Solution to the problem:
Stop pouring money in to the underclass, all they do is spend it on drugs. Stopping welfare would instantly stop the violence and drugs.
Has anyone ever seen an analysis of where the drug money comes from? Has anyone ever seen an analysis of where the welfare money goes? I wouldn’t be surprised if %80 of welfare money goes to drugs, and %80 of drug money comes from welfare.
I have friends who retired there. Hi rise on the beach, secured underground parking. 30 floors up, they enjoy the view but they may as well be in prison.

We saw similar when we lived in PC. Part of the reason we no longer live in PC.
There have been efforts to tighten up the situation over the years, after shootings and sexual assaults. Alcohol has supposedly been banned from the beaches. From what I have heard from friends who have been back, the crowds have simply migrated over to Mexico Beach. It used to be nice and quiet over there. I guess not so much anymore.
Bay County is just pushing the problem around. It can't fix it because the county has allowed the culture to build over the years catering to the all mighty tourist dollar.

I’m not so sure about that. Much of the violence is related to drugs in some way - true. But if people suddenly have no welfare, that doesn’t mean the violence would stop. It might get worse because so many people would be even more dependent upon the drug trade for money or use MORE violence to get money to buy drugs or defend their own illegal drug trade from competitors.
Armed robberies would increase for instance - at least I would think so. And more victims would be outside of the ghetto as criminals would seek more wealthy targets.
There would be a “law and order” response that would be quite robust, however. There would be more vigilante activity too.
