St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez has been found not guilty of all counts in the fatal shooting of Philando Castile.
After 27 hours of deliberation spanning five days, the jury of seven men and five women, including two people of color, reached its verdict shortly after 2 p.m. Friday. It was read in court at 2:45 p.m. Castiles family angrily stormed out as soon as the verdicts were read. After the first not guilty verdict was read for the manslaughter charge, defense attorney Earl Gray leaned over and squeezed Yanezs shoulders.

Have the riots started yet?
Look for riots in the Twin Cities courtesy of Black Lives Matter, Gov. Millquetoast Dayton and liberal city leaders who will not respond with the force needed to put down the carnage.
“Family angrily stormed out as soon as the verdicts were read.”
Don’t’ go away mad, just go away.

Dudes name is Earl Grey for real?
“Dudes name is Earl Grey for real?”
Yes, believe it or not. He has a half-brother named Ed Darjeeling.
So the white hispanic LEO was not guilty? Wow.
The PD wants the cop to leave. Drive a tough bargain Copper or tell them no thanks, you like your job.
I thought the cop was of Asian descent.
If you watch the tape your feel he’s not guilty, but really doesn’t have the temperament to be a cop.
Too bad the city hadn’t taken care before hiring Yanez in the first place or at least trained him to take care not to issue contradictory instructions to citizens. Castile would still be alive, Yanez’s future would be a lot brighter and the city would not be facing a likely loss in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Well, that department hired him to be a cop so they must have felt like he had the temperament. Now they can pay to get rid of him.
Nope. Earl Gray.
And he’s the best
Weary taxpayers will be taking it in the shorts for a wrongful death award and a wrongful termination payout.
The protests have closed down I-94, thankfully I don’t have to take that route to get home. I live in a predominantly lower middle class black community, it was very eerie getting home and there wasn’t a car on the street.
The cop made a bad call and shouldn’t be a cop anymore. The problem with this case (IMO) is the requirement of “culpable negligence” as a condition of a Manslaughter-2 conviction in MN. In the context of a traffic stop and with the evidence (that I saw, albeit limited) it’s hard to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. In a state like NY such a standard doesn’t exist and a jury would have convicted him under similar conditions.

Last time I checked there were both airplanes and ships travelling to Africa from the United States. I’ll pitch in a couple of dollars to buy him a one-way ticket.
