Did anyone else hear Rush just now? He was talking about the Wienie Republicans in Congress - why aren't they fighting to protect Trump? Someone told him that they were sure that Trump will be impeached, and they are waiting for Pence. They don't want to line up with Trump and then be black-listed.

There was never going to be an impeachment. Neither party wants that for any president, anymore. It’s just a talking point.

I have a different theory.
I think they are deliberately stalling to get the HC/tax cut vote closer to the 2018 elections.
How could the House even imagine that? But, if that is true, Pence needs to straighten them out now.
I don’t think Trump will go away if he believes the impeachment or any other process is either illegal or grossly immoral.

Some rumors are that Pence is coordinating it. I don't believe it but there are a lot of things that have happened that I couldn't believe would happen that did.

Anyone who thinks the Republicans in Congress should be "fighting to protect Trump" hasn't been paying attention for the last two years.
Trump is not a Republican. He was an unaffiliated candidate who basically hijacked the Republican nomination process to win the 2016 presidential election. What you have seen in Washington over the last six months is the inevitable result of what would happen when a third-party candidate wins an election for the highest office in the land. Things will definitely get done, but even his "own" party will keep him at arm's length (publicly) in most matters.
