May he rest in peace and may the rattler die of indigestion.
Makes me kinda wonder...if he couldn't tell them he was bit by a rattler at the time he went to the hospital, how did they know he'd been bitten later...when they administered anti-venin?
I've never been surprised by a rattler, mainly 'cause I let them know I'm there and they'll usually let me know they are there.
A damned Copperhead...I'll kill every one I see.
Period.
I hate those damned sneaky things.
In fact, I hate them so bad, that when I see a King Snake on another part of my land, I transplant them closer to my house.
I found a big King just a week or so ago while bushhogging...surprised it in the process of eating another snake.
Couldn't tell what it was from the tip of the tail, but I hope it was a Copperhead.
On average, about five people per year die from snake bites in the United States, mostly rattlers but copperheads, corals and mambas as well.
Copperheads are a favorite for king snakes. If you have a king around, you won’t have to worry about venomous snakes or rats. Friend of mine in MS sent me an e-mail the other day; he was jogging on a trail in the woods and saw/heard some kind of commotion in the brush; he stopped and began approaching slowly. In a few steps he saw what was causing the ruckus; a king snake was in the process of killing and eating a copperhead.
Stop and they go away.
Kill every Cotton mouth you see, they are just nasty
Bread truck/boat gun
Beats hucking rocks at it
Yup Rattlers a pretty benign, let them know you’re there and they respond in kind.
They don’t want no fight
I am not sure if you need to know what kind of rattler bit the person. The Mojave rattler is neurotoxin and your heart stops in 15 minutes. I know a couple of folks who have survived western diamondback bites, though with nasty scars.
'Can you spot the copperhead?'
