Bin designer Angus Carnie, 35, used his contacts in waste management to collect tonnes of rubbish and turn them into building materials
A designer has created his own house for just £15,000 - out of recycled McDonalds food wrappers and plastic bottles.
Bin designer Angus Carnie, 35, used his contacts in waste management to collect tonnes of rubbish and turn them into building materials.
For £15,000 he managed to build a two-bedroom detached house in just seven months.
The house features faux wooden logs made from compressed plastic and breeze blocks made from discarded hospital bedding.
The property is also solar and wind-powered, and his water supply comes from 90-litre tub on his roof which is filtered as it goes through to his taps.

The self-confessed dumpster diver's home near Dundee is so eco-friendly it is exempt from council tax, saving him ever more cash.
Thrifty Angus came up with the idea when a brain tumour - which turned out to be benign - put him out of work.
He said: "I looked at all of my costs and housing was the easily the biggest.
"I started to wonder how I could use my waste knowledge and put it to good use.
"People said I'd never manage it and people thought I was bonkers, but I said: 'I'll manage - I'm Scottish'.
"The house is totally sustainable. I create my own electricity. When I'm watching TV at night I use little pedals to generate electricity.
"I then bank it all into four batteries and that keeps me going."
Angus decided to change the way he was living when he collapsed and woke to find doctors telling him that he had a brain seizure.

Can you pull a permit on this?
he’s very very close to GENIUS
if he had built his new shack out of mcDonald’s HAMBURGERS instead of mcD’s wrappers, it would last FOREVER
and I mean through the next 10 cycles of “global warming” plus the day when Planet 10 smashes into earth
McD burgers never spoil, they’re some sort of secret artificial substance that’s INDESTRUCTABLE (and i hear our armed forces are using mcD burger material for tank armor and bullet=proof vests now)

Twinkies!!!
YES TWINKIES!!!

they make huts out of styrofoam in Africa
My ex-wife’s biscuits!!!! Totally indestructible....
Animal dung is more readlily available, easier to work with, and the sun will not break it down.
Doctor #1: "He's in bad shape, but we won't know how much damage there was until he comes around."
Doctor #2: "I think he's waking up."
Doctor #1: "Angus, you had a brain seizure. How do you feel?"
Angus: "A brain seizure?? I think I'll build a house out of garbage from McDonald's."
Doctor #2: "It's worse than we thought. He's not making any sense at all."
The pedaling for TV reminded me of Soylent Green
WTH
blech!!!
I see it as beef jerky and the part that scares me is what makes it seem like hamburgers.
there were reports galore of all the industrical chemcials mcD puts in their products
i recall one big study to the effect that there are some super-sized chemical factories in NJersey that not only turn the river on fire with their pollutant outfall...but also supply tons and tons of chemicals to mcD
mcD burgers never rot.
but
the 5 guys burger joint’s manager showed me their back room. he asked if i could identify anything unusual or unexpected. i could not. answer: they do not have a freezer because ALL food served every day is delivered FRESH that very morning, the 5guys joint does NOT ‘save’ or ‘store’ any food long term for future or even the next day’s menu
fresh, completely fresh.
the exact opposite business strategy from mcD?
How does one fabricate breeze blocks aka cinder blocks from discarded hospital bedding?
5 guys rocks and it’s ok to store potatoes and peanuts. The fries are always fresh too.
Animal dung more readlily available than McDonald’s litter?
I think not.
yes. i realize the free peanuts are a big come-on.
the burgers are SO good that we go out of our way to 5 guys.
expensive, yes. but excellent and fresh and they fix them exactly how you want yours.......indeed you can order online and just go in and pick your order up fresh with zero waiting in the store!
and when ordering online, they ask you whether you want 0, some, full amount, or extra.....of each condiment, cheese, onions, sauce, tomoaters, you name it, you get to specify what and how much of each additive you want on your burger
and its all fresh too. i like 5 guys a lot.
i also like In&Out but the name is misleading, the parking lot is a bitch, a real mess. you can;t just go in and out, you have to fight for a parking space ..ha
both 5 and In.out plus a couple more...sonic burgers....are running RINGS around McD on quality. you are what you eat and I can’t handle mcD ‘food’ anymore.
Come on you guys! That looks good and good on him for being inventive.
Beats the heck out of those over $100k tiny homes.
I used to spend my summers in South Pasadena and know the In and Out well. The conveyor under the drive is cool. Also a fantastic burger.
