I'm going to bacon wrap some Nathans and put them on the pellet smoker this weekend.
I was in and around Adams Morgan in the mid nineties. What I remember was trying to park and a homeless guy getting in the way to “assist” me and seemingly want some type of payment for his services. Maybe it was Jacques. Also remember a friend got mugged or in a fight; later some shooting or such occurred and was in the news. Jerry Garcia's drawings went on display at the art gallery at the beginning of the strip and we went to check them out.
Mmmm. Bacon wrapped and smoked. Let me know how that turns out. I'm in the process of dismantling the old grill and gazebo, to put in a good charcoal grill with sidecar smoker box and a separate gas grill, but the money I have set aside is going to my birthday present - a nice, stout AR-15. I'll do the grillworks after that. If you can get them up there, try their crinkle cut fries and beer battered onion rings. Especially if you dare to deep fry them. Delicious. I could gorge, but my cholesterol count won't allow me to. LOL Their mustard isn't anything to write home about, though. I'm a mustard snob. I keep yellow, Dijon with Chardonnay, Dusseldorf, beer & brat, sweet and hot, and spicy brown deli mustard handy. Yeah, that sounds like you met Jacques. He was a hustler, for sure, but he always came through for me. Sounds like you and I were walking the same pavement around the same time. We may have crossed paths and didn't even know it.
