FB is only as good as your friends. Mine tend towards calm and don’t actually discuss politics much.
my “friend” list did not even notice.......
it was painless, and dare I say.....liberating....(use that word in a very strict sense...lol)
5 years without Facebook. It was a very wise decision. Facebook is full of dumb shit, a total waste of time.
A lot of us never started, never will....
I ONLY go on face book anymore when FR is down...contacted family, friends across America, trucker drivers, bikers, I’m not on Farce Book anymore...
Feels so good!!!
I’ve unfollowed several people on FB for the reasons you’ve mentioned. I have no intention of telling them I’ve unfollowed. They may or may not notice.
I unfollowed all the political bullies and rarely see anything bothersome now. The ads have gotten worse but that just means scroll past. I keep up with a lot of friends and promote my music performances there. I couldn’t buy the promotion I get there, it’s been very helpful.
It’s still a great resource, you just have to stay in control of it.
Nine months or so ago. Never miss it.
Facebook removed too many privacy features. Not safe with so many messed up people. Need those features back.
I thought long, and hard about joining FB a number of years ago when friends, and associates approached me to join.
Still thinking about it.
Never had it. Never will. Nothing but a vehicle for Schmuckerberg to manipulate women’s catecholamines and make them angry at men.
Schmuckbook is for losers. Schmuckbook is about who you went to high school with. Twitter is about who you wish you went to high school with.
I hated high school. Love my Twitter feed.
Its impossible to have a real discussion on FB, it is really a place for one-liners. So I really don’t try to persuade anyone there. If someone is really annoying, you just “unfollow” them so you don’t have to see their dumb posts. If you want to check in on them, you still can. But you don’t have to see their stuff involuntarily.
Never started.
Never fell into that syndrome. Never joined Twitter either. I sometimes post to news articles that allow a Google log-in, but I don’t use Google for anything else. I use Bing for my search engine because I earn reward points that I can get gift cards with.
I got rid of Facebook the day after Obama won reelection.
I have several hundred friends and acquaintances throughout the US and Europe. We have a private Facebook group. We used it to replace our old Usenet newsgroup. It works really well. It allows us to filter out the Usenet trolls and continue our friendships from a distance.
I also have a private family group, one for a local scooter group, and another for a special interest group from another Usenet legacy.
Facebook is excellent for that purpose. We took a look at Google+ and some of the other social media offerings, but none of them show much promise.
I’ll stick with Facebook for those purposes.
Never had one. But I did open an Instagram account before the POS suckaburg bought it.
I never really got started. I only signed up, under a nom de plume, to get access to some closed groups.
But then, never really did much with it. Was there during the latest FR outage and hated it.
Only adults who are communist sympathizers use facebook...
