Why should the government now punish him for crimes of his wife that took place more than 20 years ago?
First take off everyone who urinated or flashed themselves in public. Yes, many of them are on such lists.

Naw, you’d have been out about a year ago. It was 21 years ago.
He’s married to her and they have 2 or 3 kids. Come on. At the time, ya. She should be put on the list. But still? Has she committed any other crimes? No? He married her after he turned 18.
She shouldn’t still be on that list.

If he committed no crime, why is he being prevented from entering a legal business?
No. But I’m not okay with keeping someone on it for life after they have proven they aren’t a predator. Especially after the “victim” marry’s her and has multiple children with her.
She was punished and the guy obviously loves her enough to have and raise kids with her.
I don’t know about that, but I think she got off light for what she did. If I or any other average male had raped a 12 year old student in my charge I wouldn’t skate out of prison after 7 years. And there’s a good chance I’d have been killed or maimed in prison by the other convicts or guards. His going into the legalized marijuana business is another topic.
If they flashed themselves to kids no. But otherwise yes. Take those people that were seen walking through their house naked off the lists and people that pee’d in public off lists.
I wouldn’t be “okay” with this character if he expressed any aspiration other than jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge (and taking his aging sweetheart with him).

He didn’t commit any crime, but he’s trying to enter a business where background checks are done on both husband & wife. She is a child rapist.
