Memorial Day weekend would seem like the best time for a big summer blockbuster to hit the theaters, but in recent years audiences have been focusing more on their tans and grillmaster skills over the holiday than going to a movie theater.
Past Memorial Day holiday weekend openings that were instant fails at the box office include: "Tomorrowland" ($33 million opening weekend), "Alice Through the Looking Glass" ($26.8 million), and "X-Men: Apocalypse" ($65.7 million). Now you can add two new releases from this year to that list.

I mostly agree but the original Kickass was so quirky and fun I’ll make an exception for that.

Speaking of ticket prices, $40 bucks for a family of 4. Double that for snacks. Ridiculous.

And the male members of my family: Dad, two brothers and an uncle. Mom was a military brat. I haven’t served.

Plus I do as you have mentioned, until security does get tighten up, people will avoid possible soft targets.

Hollywood is not making movies people wish to see. Don't blame the customer for poor quality product! In advertising lingo, "the dogs won't eat the dogfood".

PS: Just wanted add. None of the major search engines; Bing, DuckDuckGo, Dogpile have anything on them to honor our vets on Memorial Day. Dogpile used to but last couple of times, nothing. Bing has some picture of a building in Spain.

The only Manchester thing that is entertaining is Life On Mars with Philip Glenister and the Ford Cortina.

My son and his wife actually walked out of Covenant. It was that bad.

I refuse to pay for that.
Before I had to drop what I was doing to socialize at some social thing I’m at now, I was fighting the battle of bolts on an EGR valve on a small block chevy.
I’m going to blank flange it while swapping valve cover on the 79 Blazer.
As hot as it was in the tin building, it beats sitting in the theater.

I think Wonder Woman will more then make up the loss’. Movie theaters are having winder women parties and everything. The movie industry always cries but always pulls through.

My biggest problem with Prometheus was that the “aliens” did not seem to be of the same species as the “A L I E N”s. It seemed like a completely different story, and it threw the whole thing off for me. I am given to understand that Covenant explains this. Not sure I’m willing to pay full price to find out.
