Guardian reporter Ben Jacobs claimed Wednesday night that Montana Republican Greg Gianforte "body slammed" him, breaking his glasses in the process, after Jacobs asked him a question about health care.
The altercation happened during an event for Gianforte, who is running for Montana's only congressional seat in a special election set for Thursday, at his campaign headquarters just south of Bozeman, Mont. BuzzFeed News reporter Alexis Levinson retweeted Jacobs' allegation and said that she was present at the altercation. "Ben walked into a room where a local TV crew was set up for an interview with Gianforte. All of a sudden I heard a giant crash and saw Ben's feet fly in the air as he hit the floor," she said in a series of tweets.

Jury nullification.
Everyone. Hates. The. Self. Serving. Lying. Despicable. Media.
These “reporters” are psychotic.
He’s been psycho since campaign season. Non stop.
Bird-dogging by the biased media to incite violence....
I don’t know. I hate reporters too. Hope Greg didn’t do it though.
The Guardian has been very complicit in the intelligence community campaign against Trump. I have twice caught their reporter Ben Jacobs falsely attributing quotes to Trump. The first was on this thread when Trump waved goodbye to some members of an audience and Jacobs pretended that Trump was telling our Asian allies "Good luck!" if North Korea attacked them. The second was on this thread where Jacobs falsified an interview with Julian Assange in order to smear Trump. In the same thread, ForYourChildren referenced a third article where Jacobs fabricated news about Trump. 40 posted on 4/13/2017 8:17:59 PM by Fedora
I'm not touching you.
.
I think you are underestimating the sheer number of people who would like to beat the snot out of snotty liberal reporters if they get a chance.
Around here it would earn you votes if you did it.
I suspect it will help Greg in Montana also. At least we hope it does.
It sounds kind of staged to me.
More witnesses describe a body slam and hitting than not. One didn’t and conservatives are running with that witness for political reasons.
I’m a weirdo, I only care about truth and I don’t think people are better people just because they agree with me politically. It seems like G is guilty.
Of COURSE the reporter karmically deserved a beat down as they all do. But we are not legally allowed to do it, and the candidate should have restrained himself.
Hope you’re right.
Don't you mean "lose"?
Eff these journalists and their in-your-face answer-my-questions attitude. Deserved what he got.
...and we will loose a winnable seat.
Don't you mean "lose"?
Well... when you assault someone you effectively have set your seat loose by an act of petulance. Now if he can make the case that the guy was trespassing, initiated contact or something then that's different. I hope that's the case but it doesn't sound good for him. Sure wish there was actual video.
Good. You must have earned that.
1 day before election..........
yeah right
mita been born at nite, but it wasnt last nite
Very clever attempt at a save.
I am familiar with "loose" as a transitive verb, as used here: Attic Greek [luw]. In English it's antiquated and means to "destroy", "undo". It doesn't quite fit here, when the modern meaning of "lose" (as in "not win") is the one intended.
:)
Loose and lose are one of my pet peeves so I noticed it too... but I can’t pass up an attempt at humor. Although my wife would tell you I should more than not.
Humor! I love it!
I was going to let it pass, but this was the second misuse of "loose/lose" that I encountered in the course of a few minutes here on FR.
My favorite pet peeve is prescribe/proscribe confusion.
