One of the eps that was RUINED by reworking. The original plant eater was a true ice cream cone of death and the head on view when Decker goes in scared the beejezus out of me.

"The Doomsday Machine" was one of my favorite episodes. I just watched it a couple of weeks ago with my youngest son, and I was very disgusted to see they had ruined the original special effects with cartoon computer graphics that look stupid.
Yes, the original planet eater looked better.
