Seth MacFarlane is gearing up for a trek across the final frontier.
Fox announced this week that this fall, it will launch a new science-fiction TV series, called the "The Orville." The show will star funnyman executive producer and actor MacFarlane ("Family Guy," "Ted") as the commander of the titular starship. Adrianne Palicki ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.") will portray MacFarlane's executive officer and ex-wife with a ragtag crew rounding out the cast. Think "Galaxy Quest" meets "Family Guy," and you're on the right track.

TWO WHOLE white males in the main cast.....
OH NOES!!!!
The PC crowd aint gonna like that...
This has shades of “Quark,” with Richard Benjamin, from the 1970s.
I would watch this, it looks funny(ish) but I refuse to watch the MSM ABCCBSNBC Vaudeville nonsense.
MacFarlane’s schtick is so played out. If it’s actually good, I might catch it on Netflix.
There are sites you can go to download episodes without commercials.
This show looks a bit like “Galaxy Quest” to me.
Galaxy Quest is one of my favorite movies.
Galaxy Quest was inspired, it really was. Had some great moments and even better cast pulling it all together - in ways that few would have thought of. Like Tony Shaloub being “yellow washed” to look asian.
Adrianne Palicki gets to play ANOTHER ex-wife being forced to work with her ex-husband though which is kinda .. eh. honestly, she can hold a lead role together all by herself. Would have been funnier if the role was changed, giving her command of the ship and Seth as her “executive officer”.
Galazy Quest after the relationship between the guy and girl has gone south.
It looks like it could be a pretty good show-—(here comes the big butt) BUT Seth MacFarlane’s hatred of Christians/Christianity is a real turnoff.
The show looks like fun. I don’t know if there will be any serious moments or if it will be a bunch of one liner slapstick.
It’s on Fox, FWIW.
He does have humor...but his real life rants against people are just not cool. He doesn’t just disagree, he essentially hates.
Looks funny. Might have to give it a try.
