Laz,

Throughout the eighties and half of the nineties, I worked as a lead purchaser for a large construction company. The money was good and the work was stable. The hours were long, but life was good.

I got married in 1995, and baby number one came a year and a half later. Ten months later, right after we’d bought our first house, the company decided to outsource my whole division.

At that point, I realized there was no such thing as job security, so I chose to take the risk and start my own business. The first couple of years were kinda scary, but we kept plugging and made it work.

That was twenty years ago, and we’re still going strong.

Fact is, the only security there is, is in oneself. If you can get up every day and put the pedal to the metal, you can be your own man.

It may be time to consider it, bro.

You may be right. THREE layoffs in ONE year?

You know what they say in war: If it happens once, it’s a oddball occurance. If it happens twice, it’s a coincidence. If it happens three times, it’s enemy action.
