My innocent daughter saw an advert for a local “Pride Parade”, and asked if we could go. My wife and I gently explained that this was not the kind of “pride” that she thought it was.

I looked at two lists of popular African American baby names [their terminology, not mine]. Barack wasn’t on either, but Malik was on both.

Malik is the Obama half brother who has been very critical of Barack.

I wonder what happened to “Denise,” a normal-people name.

>> I Wonder What Happened to Denise? <<

Might make a great song title!

(Too bad Sinatra’s not still around to record it.)

I was watching a detective show and a witness name was Chevetta. How creative.

Yeah, now that the “bro-country” fad seems to be fading, it might work.

(But maybe more as a “hook” than as a title?)

My great-niece gave birth to a girl yesterday, named her "Olive". Poor little thing will forever be called "Olive Oyl".

Have heard some odd boys' names lately: Foster, Franklin, Finley. Whatever happened to Michael, James, William, etc.?
