Pair dies less than 1 hour 30 minutes apart

LAKE JACKSON, Texas - After nearly 62 years of marriage, Lake Jackson couple Tom and Delma Ledbetter left this world about two weeks ago.

“Mama was from Nebraska, and daddy was from Arkansas,” said Donetta Nichols.

Nichols is one of the Ledbetters' daughters. She tells us the couple first met in their early 20s through mutual friends.

“He was stationed in Florida and my mother and her girlfriend had moved to Florida,” she said.

Their first date of sorts happened when Tom had to “just move his car.”

“They drove around two, three different blocks or whatever and they came back and they parked and he said he reached over and he grabbed her hand and he said, 'I don't know what made me do it.' He said, 'I just reached over and gave her a kiss on the cheek,'” Nichols said.

Three weeks later, they were married. Two daughters soon followed, then grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. It was a life filled with love and laughter. Then, in April of this year, Delma fell ill and did not recover.

“They couldn't get a pulse. They couldn't get a blood pressure. They couldn't get anything. Yet mama was just hanging on to something,” said Donetta.

A few days later, Tom too fell ill.

“We got him over to the nursing home with Mama. They had pushed their little beds together and Mama was laying right there, facing him. She was asleep and Daddy goes and he reached over there and he grabbed ahold of her hand and he just laid there with her, and it was so sweet,” Nichols said.

Not long after, Tom died. Delma followed, not even an hour and a half later. Their lives ended the same way their relationship began – holding hands.

“I mean, it was exactly how they wanted to go. It couldn't have been any better,” Nichols said.

From hospice to funeral home to final resting place, Tom and Delma didn't leave each other's side. Now, at Restwood Memorial Park, they'll never have to.

Some men on this conservative site realize the extend to which society’s liberal, hedonistic, disgusting court and legal systems incentivize women to screw men over by marriage and divorce.

Such men realize that marriage is nearly obsolete in a society with a liberal-infested family court system.

You are probably one of those misguided “white knights” who would try to protect one of those skanky Swedish or Germany sluts from being raped by the Muslims they invited in.

True, some Swedish and Germany men do nothing because they are cowards. Others are like me, and have NFG for sluts who are reaping what they sowed.

Millennials in the US are the same way: some ARE in fact unmotivated losers, but others are the smart ones, who realize that marriage is a raw deal for men.

Read “Men on Strike: Why Men Are Boycotting Marriage, Fatherhood, and the American Dream - and Why It Matters” by Helen Smith PhD, its a good book that describes why things are happening they way they are now.

>>I’m not the only person that didn’t RTFM:

No, you're not.

The present state of affairs was a strategic objective held by those who wanted to destroy American culture.

>>Every man I save from marriage and society’s brainwashing

The reality articulated by Bezmenov contradicts the benefit of your "salvation".

>>Not getting married can prevent divorce and cheating 100% of the time.

What impact does that have on the sociobiological competitive fitness of a culture?

Oops!

Yeah, sounds like your life is wonderful. Not getting married is a pretty miserable existence for most people.

Even if it seems foolish to do so, trust God once in a while and stop being such a thickhead.

>>their income potential straight out of college is barely able to afford a starter house and a stay at home mom raising a kid.

My wife and I lived in a mobile home for 10+ years, ate lots of chicken and hot dogs... while we saved and planned how to make a home for the family we wanted in the context of reality.

It takes commitment and hard work - something we learned from our parents, who also had marriages that lasted >50 years until death.

Generation XBox thinks they’re entitled to a McMansion and an Audi because the TeeVee says so.

Boohoo for them - and STAY OFF MY LAWN!

Yes, I am cognizant of this demoralization strategy. But the only adaptation to present circumstances is to simply conserve resources and not get married.

The only thing that will turn around the “sociobiological competitive fitness” of this culture at this point, is a non-holds barred, no rules of engagement HOT Civil War in which the entire Marxist-leftist enemy is purged in battle.

And by no RoE, I mean when a leftist surrenders and stops fighting, you take him out anyway. And in CWII, there should be NO ONE that is not considered a non-combatant.

Either way, CW II/WW3 or not, Western civilization is pretty much over, between Leftism and Islam. The sooner a Civil War or WW3 happens, the more likely it is that the Leftists and Muslims will lose.

You’re defeated.

Others, not so much.

Enlisting is not a good pathway to marriage. And besides, if you get married while still in, there are a LOT of cheating military wives. I know this for a fact.

I guess it’s either the roll of the dice, the morals of both husband and wife or behaviours during marriage for both partners. Panning for gold sometimes you find a nugget or you just find rocks. I lucked out. Enlisted at 17, got engaged after basic to an almost 15yr old I had originally met when she was 13 before I enlisted. She waited the entire time I was posted to stateside bases and overseas. We only saw each other for a few of my leaves. We married when I was on convalescent leave when she turned 16. She became an Army wife for my last year at the Armys premier armpit base of the 60’s Ft Huachuca AZ and still stayed, that base was brutal. June will be our 49th year married, 51 years involved. Sometimes the dice roll true. Looks like a few on this thread unfortunately rolled snake eyes.

Married and divorced, and will never marry again. I’d rather castrate myself than get married again.

God isn’t the problem. Living in a woman-worshipping gynocentric society and a gynocentric family court system. I don’t trust people anymore.

And my life IS wonderful. My time (other than with my boys) is my time and my time alone. I’ve done things I never thought I’d do, and gotten things done I’d never gotten done before.

Even my land my house sits on is becoming a paradise. I don’t need to venture out much except for work. I’m not like a hermit in the desert.

I’m like a hermit in the Garden of Eden. I’ve even nicknamed the 4 streams on my property Gihon, Pishon, Tigris, and Euphrates. I have about 150 fruit & nut trees and bushes, everything from figs to filberts. I’ve even started experimenting with aquaponics. In the next few years, I’ll get goats, chickens, bees, solar panels and a 3D printer.

What do I need a wife for? A feminist once said “A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle.”

Well my answer to that is “A man needs a woman like a fish needs a hook.”

I’m not defeated. I’m training and arming.

I don’t need the competing priorities of having a female around. Not having a wife around to suck up time and money, nor watching TV gives me lots of time.

Within a few years, I should have at least 50,000 rounds of ammo.

When SHTF, its me and my boys, and my family. Blood is thicker than water, and more consequential than a wedding band.

Nah.

You ~want~ Civil War because, unlike the subject of this article, you’ve never learned, or were never taught, successful strategies for mate selection and FAMILY raising.

Do those Marxist Jesuits prefer deposits in denominations of 5.56 or 7.62? LOL.

They prefer their “owner” employees to have direct deposit - that can then be used per the “rules” of fractional lending.

Because, everybody ~needs~, and is entitled to, a McMansion , an Audi, and publicly funded infrastructure like trains.. and the multi-family low income housing that pops up along the tracks, financed by the “bank” - so the “entitled” banksters can have their McMansions and Audis.

They are after all, the brianworks of the farm... it is for our benefit they eat all the apples and drink all the milk and whiskey!

I’m grateful that you didn’t have daughters. Due to your psychotic hatred of women, you would probably abuse & neglect them, while worshipping your “pure, perfect” sons.

Here’s a fact: Men cheat & lie too. So cease your moralizing. No one is impressed.

Yeah. Some folks been working on that for a while. I remember back circa 1970 when the Mechista's bomb factory blew up in Denver.

You mean like the XX Quadrillion Dollars worth of Derivative A$$Paper that (unmarried) Generation XBox helped game into the global financial infrastructure's sewage pipe?

Gee. Had that scent for a while.

They’ve been working on it for longer than even you think.

Cloward and Piven in 1966 come to mind, also Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi in Europe, about 50 years earlier.
