If this was a serious issue, Trump wouldn’t have tweeted it. He would have given the question to a senator whom he could trust to ask during the hearing. Why give her a head’s-up that this line of questioning was coming? I think that President Trump is trying to score a few political points on something that isn’t going anywhere.
Lerner was in contempt of Congress. Nothing happened as a result because Congress is spineless and worthless, but she was found in contempt.

Same difference. Congress in itself is a failure, because the people elected to it care more about themselves than they do the Constitution and their constituents.

Wrong. If DJT gets an additional 5million people to tune in to this hearing to hear ‘I plead the fifth’, there will be more anticipation of Sessions’ finally bringing the hammer down on the criminals. Keeping ringmaster Rice in the maelstrom is critical for what’s about to go down.

What exactly are the consequences for being held in contempt of Congress? Congress is not a law enforcement or Judicial body. It is a law making body and its hearings are supposedly for the purpose of gathering facts on which to base legislative acts. When has one of these Congressional investigations ever had a worthwhile outcome? They all seem to be just an opportunity for empty posturing by Congress critters and make work for their bloated staffs.
Yup. Issa, Gowdy, Chaffetz, et al are excellent theatrical showmen but we have yet to see any indictments and jail time. I would like to see Sessions get serious and turn up the heat.

Trump should release nothing. The media will take the most benign aspects of the return, twist and lie about it, get called on it and print a retraction in a help wanted add, but the damage will already be done. Its like a lawyer saying something they know will be over ruled but poison a few minds anyway.
