Republican leaders and President Donald Trump celebrated a legislative victory Thursday as the House passed the American Health Care Act, which, if it clears the Senate and is signed into law, will repeal former President Obama’s signature achievement, 2010’s Affordable Care Act.
But the reaction was substantially different in Hollywood, as celebrities took to social media Thursday afternoon to voice their displeasure with the new bill and to urge fellow liberals to donate to Democratic politicians ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.
Politically outspoken celebrities including Katy Perry, Amy Schumer, John Legend, George Takei, and Mark Ruffalo all tweeted about the bill, while TV personality Andy Richter called House Republicans “soulless pimps” and comedian Patton Oswalt vowed to make the 2018 midterm election a “dawn-to-dusk nightmare for the GOP.”
“The American people are coming for all of you,” tweeted Beauty and the Beast star Josh Gad.

I wish everybody would just stay the Hell away from Hollywood this summer so all their films can crash and burn. I’m seriously thinking about pulling the plug on everything - getting rid of Netflix, Hulu, etc. and just start doing more outdoorsy stuff again and traveling in the area.
The best part is they have no idea what’s in the bill just that the GOP passed it so in their 4 year old addled minds it’s “bad”
yknow what’s bad? People “having insurance” that can no longer afford the premiums thanks to Obamacare. I don’t see Josh Gad singing gay songs about that.
Yknow what’s bad? People paying the penalty over purchasing Obamacare insurance because Obamacare raised the rates of the insurance that it’s unaffordable. But I don’t see Patton Oswalt lifting a finger about that while he cashes his checks for his overvalued work.

Exactly what I was thinking. What the hell does it matter to these Hollywood bubble heads? They don’t have to deal with this mess or the harm that it has done to our healthcare system. It may never recover. We may end up on single payer anyway, but I bet they won’t. Noooo, not them.
