When uploaded to Netflix, an episode of the educational childrens show Bill Nye the Science Guy cut out a segment saying that chromosomes determine ones gender.
The original broadcast of the episode, entitled 'Probability', saw a young woman explain (at 9:07 below):
Im a girl. Could have just as easily been a boy, though, cause the probability of becoming a girl is always 1 in 2, a young woman says in the show. See, inside each of our cells are these things called chromosomes, and they control whether we become a boy or a girl.

Sex is a biological category. It isn’t a dirty word. Your prudishness is boosting the gender ideologues.
Shame on Netflix.
I get the reference. That is very good.
My grammar’s chromosomes helped to determine my sex/gender two generations later. She was a good lady.
Bill is still an engineer masquerading as a climate scientist.
interesting... i always thought girls more were born but here are two references that say more boys than girls are born
Why Are More Baby Boys Born Than Girls?

Human sex ratio The sex ratio for the entire world population is 101 males to 100 females.

There is NO SUCH THING as gender when referring to living beings. Humans have sexes (and there are exactly two of them barring genetic defect).
Only inanimate objects and parts of speech have genders
I’m just about done with Netflix.
They promote their homemade crap (and the vast majority of it IS crap) and definitely have a skewed rating system.
There’s no way the new Bill Nye show earned 5 stars from viewers. Amy Shumer’s special had 1 out of 5 stars the first few weeks after it was added, and now has 4.5 out of 5, and is pushed as highly recommended.
They are quickly falling into the Google/Bing/MSM/Facebook category.
